And even when it seemed too late he did the ultimate and set his ego, ambitions, and plans aside to give us what we needed most, which sadly happened to be a different candidate. Part of the reason this is a good speech is because it transcends time. In 50 years when kids in school see this clip they will not care about the grievances of the 2020's or the problems with trump. They will care about the message Biden put forth and that is why it was the right call for him to focus on the future and not the present in his words.
