I have the same MSR nesting kit you show and it is great, but the problem I have with it that no one else mentions is cooking real(not instant) Jasmine rice. Real rice must be steamed with the lid on, and a pot that requires a pot lifter also requires the lid to be removed to move the pot. Removing the lid lets all the steam out resulting in crappy rice. This MSR "Stowaway" appears perfect for cooking real Thai Jasmine rice.

The videos are there to be watched, not just by folk who also make videos. Comments are invited so I commented with my opinion. You cannot always expect favourable comments. Having said that the manner of my comment was a little curt and too pointed. It was not my intention to be disrespectful....and no I am not a troll who doesn't know shit about anything. By the way I did buy one of these pots as a result of checking out reviews and am well pleased with it.

Great video, thanks! Instead of tools and cord, you might want to consider putting inside, a scrubbie for cleaning up the pot, dish soap, cooking oil, spices, tea/coffee, pot gripper, a multi-use bandana for handling a hot pot. I just ordered one from ebay for under $22 with free shipping.

Man, I really love these little stowaway pots from MSR! The 775 ml version allows these inexpensive Chinese gassifier stoves to nest perfectly inside. Thanks for the review.

Which stove do you mean? I just ordered a Bushbuddy stove and I'm trying to figure out if it'll fit inside. Did you get a Solo Stove?

I also have the 775 ml pot. Nice little pot. I find myself using this pot more often over my other cooksets, including a couple of Snow Peak sets. My Trangia alcohol stove with stand, plus other tiny goodies fit into this pot nicely.

Just wanted to comment that I thoroughly enjoyed your review, but there is no way that is the 475ml pot. More likely it would be the 775ml or 1.1L. Based off of the size your hand is, as well as the gear you were putting in it, I would guess it's the 775ml, although I have the 1.1L and it's hard to tell. Personally, I absolutely love my 1.1L pot. I can fit my micro rocket stove, a 4oz can of fuel, 0.75L msr bowl, lighter, instant coffee packets, camp soap, wetfire firestarter(s), and the MSR pot scraper/cleaner with a bit of room left to spare. Somewhat heavy if you're into UL backpacking, but I like cooking real meals when I'm out hiking. Anyway, happy cooking!

I guess for an emergency the 4oz msr isopro would be good. In the long run I'd be reluctant to use them as a general everyday or main camp cook option. The smaller the canisters are the more metal vs volume of fuel you have to carry. It would be self contained. I keep one of these in my main emergency kit stuffed with a primus multifuel stove and pump. The stove is well protected. In the short term with the two 1liter bottles of kerosene, I have an extremely high performance ice melter. When that fuel runs out I could easily transition to over fire use. These seagull pots are excellent. Thanks for the review!

Easy conversion from metric is 1000 ml or 1 litre = 1 U.S. Quart. We Canadians had the metric system forced upon us years ago. It sucks.
@tadsuchocki82274 жыл бұрын
What sucks is the Imperial system- a laughing stock in the whole world.Only 3 countries use it-the U.S., Liberia and Myanmar ,that speaks for itself.

ramen and food in it lol. I keep a bandanna in mine, inside of which is a salt+pepper shaker, a 2 oz bottle of oil, a 2 oz bottle of biodegradable plant-based soap, 1/4th of a scotch pad, and assorted drinks like coffee packs, hot chocolate, or apple cider, also tea + a spork. Also a bail-wire for hanging. Food is in a separate waterproof bag

I also have this pot and love it. On another note, I've never understood why anyone would carry a uni-tasker like that carry-around pot handle. A three inch vice grip will serve the same purpose and can be used for other jobs. Just my two cents worth. Happy dirt time!

Thanks for the review, really pushed me over the edge in wanting to buy one now. Just one quick question, knowing that there are different sizes, which ml pot would be best for two people. I'm between the 775ml and 1.1ml, but if anyone has any experience with both pots, I'd love to know the recommend person ratio.
