I've had mine 30+ years! The valve on the plastic pump finally stripped this week up in the Sierra. I was still able to push/pull it carefully while turning and cook. :-) Thanks for the cleaning tips!

Hi. Thanks for the video. I wonder though what do you have in the bottle in order to clean the tube by pumping it out through the tube, is it a special cleaning product?

I use my whisperlite for more than 14 years now and it still works perfectly. I wonder if the brass of the fuel loop can worn out because of the continuous heating. Is it wise to replace the stove after a number of years?
@Kurogane_6665 жыл бұрын
It can wear out but usually it just anneals and softens if you can I would get a backup stove and backup parts I'm playing by another stove or 2 and I'm always on the lookout for parts

I noticed your stove doesn't have the wick. Can I use mine without the wick? Whisperlite international.
@ParadigmUnkn0wn6 жыл бұрын
The wick is only needed when running kerosene/jet fuel and other heavier fuels. White gas, auto gas, and av gas will all run fine without a wick as they're more volatile and easy to light. If I expected brutally cold and windy weather I'd absolutely make sure the wick was there, but the original whisperlite and the modern non-international version has no wick.

Thank you for the informative video. Please omit the very distactive and annoying background sounds which made this presentation a failure. Great information, crap presentation.
