I think that was the problem. Sean’s been getting fellated about his otherworldly interviewing prowess for so long that he thinks he’s fucking Walter Kronkite now. His questions used to be interesting and insightful, and seem to roll off the tongue. Now, they sound like he’s reading off of cue cards shit that he stayed up all night re-writing to illicit the most oohs and aahs. Asking Sean Gillis about comedians “pensively smoking cigarettes,” is just objectively obtuse. He went for the personal glory, instead of serving the interview. The whole show is back sliding. I had to turn off the Ariana Grande episode. It came across like a fucking job interview that they rehearsed a 100 times.

God this is why i love this podcast. Shane’s view on life is still very real. He knows how normal people act and talk so the fact that he’s famous and kept that mindset makes him so real. He knows how crazy some of the shit he does and he talks about it through the lens of an avarage person. The podcast is when he actually tells people how he felt about it and he does so with comedic fashion. It’s like how south park makes their show. Everything is stupid, let’s laugh rather than hate.
