The whole "everybody is a little autistic" is referring to a lack of cognitive empathy, Which is the empathy that you feel immediately when seeing something sad, vs affective empathy where once you understand a situation, you feel bad. That whole "I was just sharing a fact" thing is something I do all the time because of my inability to fully grasp theory of mind due to autism. Once I am told other people are sad, I can empathize. But I do not recognize it and have the mirror reaction most people do so I can be incredibly inappropriate. Like if a sick sister is talking about her illness, I will explain why the illness does that and she will cry because she wants to be comforted, not have a biology lesson. Lol

Cognitive empathy (cold) is recognizing others emotions but not feeling them. Affect empathy(hot) is feeling the emotions others are feeling. I have A.S.P.D (anti-social personality disorder). I don't feel others emotions. I don't feel sad when others are sad. I can recognize what people are going through. I just don't care.
