@@RCKickschannel Yes I wanna see that! I have decided to paint mine in dark gun metal greay :) and after my first drive I will decide what to upgrade on it :)

It’s about time! MST is really a good brand and many of the chassis are compatible with Tamiya bodies.

More manufactures should do more build kits!

Kits should become the standard again, I am seriously done with incorrectly build RTRs that often come with electronics I just throw out.

The CFX-W, had a blast with mine, it was my go to crawler, it took an absolute beating, snapped a few shafts axial scx10,s fit, the transmission is absolutely solid 👍🏻👍🏻

About time ! I’ve been building, selling MST kits for years. If you wheelie want to have some fun get yourself an MTX-1 kit and Chuck a cheap brushless in it ! Better than Tamiya and cheap as chips.

Positively a great bit of Kit!! My old Friend, Matteo Meyer turned me on to them about 12 Years ago. The Planetary Gears work great!! The Driveshafts and Tyres should be replaced, but the rest of it is excellent. 😉

My first crawler was a Mst CMX a mid motor narrower version of it. Mst has a number of upgrades for it and there is interchangeability bumper and body wise. 313 mm is a common wheel base for crawlers. the chassis rail spacing is the same as Axial crawlers.
@GTMatukka3 жыл бұрын
CFX is a great truck, i have one modded. You can compete it as stock but you have to change the tires. -W is bigger with portals.

Cool truck I've been tempted to get the kit with the Jimny body
@pwayne35803 жыл бұрын
Just finished one of these. The body is top notch with endless options for any type of build. However, I think wheel extensions and bigger tires are a must. They improved the crawling performance 2X. Otherwise I think it is an excellent kit for great value.

I'm not easily jealous but now you have me... I believe MST is a Suisse company, not Chinese. Although the whole kit is probably produced in China :-) I have a MST chassis kit to build and a Tamiya Defender body to put on top of that but I love the looks of this J45C as well. Do yourself a favor and change the plastic kit wheels to steel/alu beadlocks from the start to get some extra unsprung weight. GPM has some nice examples for €20 a pair. MST has some really nice detailed manuals and the fact the parts are packed per building step makes these kits easy to build even if you have to stop and clear your "building space" in between the different steps.

Planetary gears is a great way to do gear reduction
@Warwick35113 жыл бұрын
The only problem with the planetary gears is you can't change the ratio.

@@Warwick3511 this is a very true statement, thats something some will need to consider. , we’ll find a problem in every solution, us humans lol

Although they are not super popular trucks I have heard so good things about them and it certainly looks awesome. I do think the kit version has some upgrades to the RTR. I want to say the shocks and the drive shafts are upgraded items versus what comes on the RTR. Either way looks like great kit to build up and you should have a blast with it!!!
@YoShImUrA533 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, not the case. Stock driveshafts are all the same poor plastic. Worth investing in the upgraded metal ones if you plan to run it for more than a few hours or through some touch tracks, in my experience. Not aware of any kit upgrades. The CMX and CFX at least, don't even come with bearings standard...

Gavin, have you heard of the brand Gmade? They make some cool RC Crawler kits & RTR's. I currently have one of their Komodo Double Cab kits on the GD02F Chassis sitting and waiting for me to build it. But after seeing that MST CFX-W on your show earlier, that definitely does look like a quality bit of kit, so now in two minds whether to flog the Komodo and try and source this Bad Boy instead... 🤔

Its taking forever for the new Tamiyas to get to Canada 😓
@YoShImUrA533 жыл бұрын
MST is quite shy about their origins, but I've always considered them a younger branch of Tamiya, taking the risks the parent company doesn't want to take, hence why they have the same (or else, very suspiciously similar) bodies, and both have industry standard plastic quality and instructions... I could be wrong, but those facts stand...

Why is it Tamiya can not make something like that? Are you telling me they do not have people good enough to design it. They would rather churn out old kits or use the name from a classic.

The Tamiya CC-02 4x4 chassis is good but this is next level more like TRX4 stuff.
