Wow, creative geniuses wrote this serial! lol That aside, I think the effects are pretty decent, considering the time period (early 1950s), budget, and the fact it's just a serial made for kids. George Wallace's film career is mighty impressive too, stretching all the way from 1950 to 2004, across many genres -- definitely worth a look on IMDb or Wiki.

At 2:36, it's "out of the question" as to whether the government will allow test flights of the rocket ship. It's classified. How does that matter, exactly? Instead, the government wants the rocket ship used to investigate the sabotage. In other words, we cannot allow you to fly the ship to make sure it's safe, because we want you to fly the ship as if we already know it is safe. In that case, the first regular flight will serve as a test flight, regardless of whether the government permits it. Great screenwriting.

No way elvis was a 17 year old comedian who was BRILLIANT as the prototype for his replacement the new servo can sing thats about it the original 17 yr old was years ahead of his time.... its like when dc killed the flash in crisis the 1st national broadcast season of mst3k was the absolute best no rehearing and searching for parts these guys was throwing caution to the wind feeling their way and that is what makes him soo sooo good and even tho it was ou a year in? That was the mvp season.... the later years with exceptions the look like they were trying too hard.... long live elvis!
