For those who say BionicPIG brought them here, I'm here to inform you right now that while I agree that it sucks to see this film unfinished and butchered by Hollywood's greed, a lot of what he said in his video was completely false! 1. It wasn't Disney who funded the film and kicked out Williams, that was Warner Bros. and the Completion Bond Company and it was THEY who freaked out about Aladdin and got impatient with Williams. 2. While Aladdin did have some similarities and some animators who also worked on The Thief, I personally think it was more of a coincidence, and in my humblest of opinions, the whole situation shouldn't deteriorate the quality and impact of Aladdin, seriously, why can't we just like both films? 3. Even if Disney owned Miramax at the time, I still think Harvey Weinstein was a lot more at fault for butchering it further than Calvert already did. And 4. It's funny how you all blame Disney for how The Thief turned out when it was also reported that Roy E. Disney and Walt Disney Animation Studios actually wanted to help Williams finish his original cut at one point before Gilchrist stepped in!
