Have now done it on my bike now and im so happy whit the result:).. -i buyed "tst" adjusteble fender remover but whas not happy whit the ass on the bike. -also buyed the universal led plate light(like yours). -A dark taillight whit intigrated blinkers. good thing whit that fender remover kit i buyed whas that it included parts who take away the holes from the oem blinkers. So now when i take your tip and put my plate holder and led light on the oem arm the tail look realy clean. I have the tool to make this aluminum plate holder but i had a nice plastic one from the shop(original)

Man I'd take one of these! That's clean! I sorta did my own thing and just mounted the plate to the arm and drilled a hole in the plate and put a nice cover around the plate well... The plate actually broke off the other day lol.

Michael S. Yeah, I don't think drilling through the plate itself is the best way to go about it. This way definitely works better.

MotoSouth It was a quick idea lol. I never expected it to break off like it did. Guess maybe the wind drag got it. But I'm gonna have to get me some aluminum and do what you did. That is a very clean setup

Nice job , I never understood why do people cover there plate number ? Your making videos, and you ride the bike on the street, I don't understand the issue ..please let me know your reason for doing it.. thanks sir , just curious to have someone answer..

Do NOT use a bench grinder to grind aluminum. under any circumstances. What happens is the abrasive wheel can clog and eventually will explode and could cause serious injury. ...I've worked with aluminum for years and safety posters advise strongly against this practice.

Would you happen to know which wire is the license plate light wire under the seat? I moved the plate to under the fender and I can't figure out how I should run the wire for the new light. Figured I could use the positap from under the seat instead of rerunning the existing wire up

I'm not sure where they go under the seat. If you have a service manual you could look at the wiring diagram. There's a website that has free downloads of the manual, I think it's hillbillyhobbies.com

What size hole did you drill for your wire and what measurements from the top mounting hole? I have machined a plate out of aluminum and am waiting on the tst light.. like your videos man!!

I'm assuming you are talking about the hole in the side of the arm? Looks like the hole is 5/32. As long as the wires fit, that's all you need. I drilled it from the back side in the recessed area as close as I could get it to the entry point for the wires.

do you remember what size the bolts are for mounting the plate to the swing arm?

I'm pretty sure it's an M8. I got the shortest ones they had and they worked perfectly.

They're an M6x1.0 - I just made my own tail tidy like this yesterday (but not quite as clean - I didn't have any aluminum plate thick enough to countersink for the screws). Thanks for the video, gave me some good ideas to clean mine up a bit!

Never really been in much rain with it. I doubt it would shield as much as the factory version but should be better than an undertail mount.

How did you wire in the license plate light? I bought the same one for my fz-09 and am having issues

I cut and spliced into the wire that ran to the factory license plate light.
