@@omuani American roads are very well maintained in most areas. I know that from first hand experience. But after 100 years, some of the infrastructure needs a complete overhaul, not just maintenance. Hence the need for the infrastructure bill. Second, interest rates in the US are less than 1% something unheard of in Kenya. Add to the fact that America can print its own currency with no problem. If Kenya prints money, it has to then use it to buy dollars THEN pay China to build its infrastructure. And finally, in America, the infrastructure work, the equipment, the workers etc will all be Americans. Nothing will be imported like Kenya. In short, the building of infrastructure in the US has little in comparison with the same activity in Kenya.

Kenyans are funny. You can not have any development be it jobs or growing the economy withiout infrastructure. Infrastructure be it dams, roads, bridges, power stations, rails are the bedrock or foundation of an economy. To build these, you need massive amounts of money that the country can not fianance with its sources of taxation. Currently the taxes we collect are not enough to build these projects. We can not even finance or pay for our current budgets we have to borrow to sustain our budget allocations. So what do you do. Where do you find money. You have to borrow and use these funds to build infrastructre that will pay off the debts in the long term.

The roads have no traffic...where is the justification for a dual carriageway. Roads like the Mombasa malindi highway or even Mombasa Mtwapa deserve better than even a dual carriageway. This government is just incompetent

This might look good to people without knowledge but remember all this belong to china and some few big end who will benefit by pinching some money off the projects, but this is a new colonialist in long term mkenya .

you can be sure this is not a news podcast, but an advert by someone big in the government,, who has interest in influencing the next general election. But its beautiful to see the upgrades ongoing. and I will be a major beneficially of this progress

That Edwin Gakinya guy is one smart fella, he's articulated it very well, only way roads impact on people's lives is if they're directly employed to work on them during construction. This is what happened in the US under FDR with the New Deal projects on rail and roads, not these Chinese roads built on expensive loans.

My brother don't compare the United States with Kenya? Because when the United States needs money for a infrastructure project all they do is print the money, while in Kenya 🇰🇪 and Jamaica 🇯🇲 we have to Barrow it from Europe and the United States with high interest rates or from China with low interest rates.

Haha.. finally Uhuru is waking up and realizing he needs to work. Thank you Moses Kuria and other Mt Kenya leaders who in 2018/19 complained Uhuru is doing nothing is central and were vilified. This is why you will not see this kind of road projects in other areas like Nyanza because leaders from there are bootlicking the president instead of working and asking development for their people

Uhuru anajitaidi sana huku wengine wanapiga siasa.

You are just ignorant. Kenya is being constructed nationwide. Nyanza is a construction site

You guys have blamed uhuru from everything you can think of. These projects were designed years back and not true that uhuru is doing them because of Kuria.
@geogias3 жыл бұрын
Whatever you are, you need to visit Kenya. Kenya doesn't start and ends in Mt Kenya. You go around the country youvwill reLize that on roads uhuru has tried, including Nyanza. Nyanza has some of the best road network around.
