Metatrader has not been banned in the US. They have withdrawn from supporting unregulated brokers. Regulated brokers still have Metatrader. Prop firms tend to be unregulated. This will be where most people will have problems.

Mt4 is not banned, it's only banned on unregulated brokers. This was put into public domain news back last year in Jan, and they followed through by shutting down all unregulated activity on their platform because they don't stand for that kind of behavior. This videi is not about MT4 though it doesn't seem like... Use a regulated broker and you can mt4/mt5. Use a shady prop firm or shady unregulated broker, and yeah, you're out. Not new news

Wanted to add, I personally don't see the big deal with unregulated brokers. I get it's risky but it's just as risky as going to the casino and putting all my money into a slot machine. Last week I was at the casino with my parents, while I go out just to eat, I watched my dad spend $300 on a slot machine in minutes it was gone. Is there even a difference? I'm not putting my whole life savings into an unregulated broker. Obviously that would be foolish. I also wouldn't put my entire life savings into a regulated broker.
