MTA advances IBX project! Will the cemetery cause issues with construction?

12:51 _"Oh, the IBX running on street level could be its Achilles' heel!"_ Integrating the IBX into street level at Metropolitan Avenue could actually breathe new life into the area, creating a seamless transit corridor that not only serves commuters but revitalizes the local economy. It's not a flaw-it's an opportunity to transform the streetscape for the better. That's my position about it. I am a "ban all cars" guy, heh.

I'd like to see it run on the street as well, but it's going to get so much opposition regardless of whether it's good or not. It could derail the whole project as a whole. New York is backwards with it's transit... actually, America in general lol, but we might as well bite the bullet and just tunnel under the cemetery. The street running is good in theory, but I only forsee problems if they don't decide to do it.

They should just tunnel under the cemetery. They could just go a little deeper. They street running will only cause more issues. Even the cemetery owner is fi e with it

It sure's hell appears that the NYCMTA doesn't know what it's doing; they could've just as easily used standard heavy rail subway equipment----in doing so, would've saved several million dollars in not having to accommodate new equipment with entirely new maintenance facilities.... There was once hope of connecting Staten Island; now dashed to all hell because of a poor choice in rail equipment!

I don’t believe Governor Kathy Hochul has the testicular fortitude to follow through with the IBX. Pls see congestion pricing, does she have the courage??? She did take credit for the idea, much like Bill de Blasio he did something similar with the Utica Ave line to Kings Plaza Mall!!!!!!

She pushed for the project and now the MTA came through with the partial funding for it. At the end she has to OK everything as well. Yup, the Utica Ave bus rapid transit proposal is within the 20 year needs assessment.

While you were there, can you tell me if they said how they will go from E16th to Junction? I don’t see how they will do it

If the interbrough express running street level should mta place barriers just in case cuz we know we got crazy homeless going on tracks and causing delays and with cars to they block the train causing delays so I say they should place barriers for safety and faster transit 👍

Brooklyn bus hub r Nostrand & Flatbush Ave then Utica Ave. I know nothing about Queens bus hub!!!
