Good job Milton. I made the mistake of not using proper torque on my Suntour fork and messed up the rebound. Torque is so important. I've since bought a torque wrench.

Travels With Tasha Yes, torque! I didn’t cover this on the video but the service manual does. I personally need to invest in some myself. Pinning your comment as this is important. Thank you.

I recommend getting new foam wipers, also take off and clean the oil seal and then apply SRAM butter under the seals, when putting the fork back on take off the metal springs on the fork seals and place them on the stanchions then easily re assemble the fork! Top job man love the vids

Ben Featherstone You know, I thought about taking off the metal springs and putting them on the stanchions as you mention but fortunately I managed to get it back on rather quickly. I’ll keep that in mind for sure. And thank you!

Great video! I have spring type shocks right now, but this was very informative. Hope you recover soon! (I came down on my seat after a jump 2 weeks ago and bent the seat rails, and ended up with a pinched sciatic nerve - not fun - 1.5 week recovery just to be able to walk normally)

David Baillargeon David, Ouch! That sounds painful man. Recover soon and recover well. I’m back on the bike, just finished my second ride. Gradually getting back to it.

I know this is an old thread but I have a question about the 8mm crush washers. The 2021 Lyrik shows crush washers but I did not have any washer on the air side (like your video) and only a large flat washer on the damper side, again just like your video. Yes the Rockshox parts list shows these 8mm crush washers that are a much small OD than the single flat washer I found on the damper side and thicker, since they are crush washer. Never had a leak but should I be adding crush washers and leave that damper large washer out in the future? Thanks

Do not use a towel to clean out lowers. All rags will have debris. Clean out the lowers with liquid. Inspect the bottom for debris buildup. The rag will never clean debris completely. I personally use soapy water with some pressure. Then dump to a container and examine. You might be shocked at what comes out. Rinse thoroughly and let it dry out before continuing. This will go a long way in keeping the fork functioning properly.
@Hawlkeye-e9p4 жыл бұрын
You need to replace the foam rings and flush the lowers with a fast drying solvent. Be generous. You want to get all the debris out of crevasses. Debris sticks to the inside of lowers by where the bolts go in. So double check that area with a flash light. You may even have chunks of grease down there so be through. Let stand for a few hours to fully evap solvent. Then reassemble. I add an additional 1 cc that ends up coating the lowers internal surface since solvent is used. This wont affect performance.

I have kind of a dumb question. Do you fill the syringe before you put the hose attachment on or after? Don’t want to put too much in or too little, even though it would only be a very small amount difference possibly.
@MILTONATOR4 жыл бұрын
Blake Beyett Fill it with the hose attached and then squeeze out the excess to get the right amount 🤙

Hi, good video!!! Is there any difference between sram butter and dynamic seal grease? In your opinion is it ok to use the dynamic on the forks too?
@MILTONATOR3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, can’t say. I’ve only user sram butter.

Sorry I don’t. Google for 50 lower leg service kit and your fork model and that should get you going.
