Yes, and yes. You could also call them female, and myself a male, or call all of us cyclists. In the MTB community, we're generally not as sensitive as you apparently are. I go out and pedal with the boys. My female friends go pedal with the girls. Do you even pedal, Shasta?

I'm not "sensitive". That's a quickie way to try to make a valid complaint from a woman and/or a person of color seem silly. nice try. Sexism is sexism. And as a female athlete I am pretty tired of being referred to as a "girl". the hashtag made me wonder when the playboy pictorial, "the girls of mountain biking" was coming out. Bottom line, you know it's bullshit, because no one ever calls you a "boy".
