1. A classic scope is usually used with an eye relief of ca. 4”, you had your eye directly on the lens. If used properly, the field of view shrinks significantly compared to the prism scope, which is designed to be used with minimal eye relief. 2. A shallow field of view is a big advantage for range finding, what is crucial for shots at 40 - 60 yards with an air gun.

FYI the VC is not a classic scope it is a "zero" eye relief scope (17mm) so is directly comparrable with the prismatic. I agree with your comments on DOF and ranging 🙂

I have both scopes. You did not mention the fact that the VC has only got +/- 2 on the dioptre adjustment, as a spectacle wearer this is not enough range for my eyesight and I have had to "fudge" a remedy so I can use it (a few videos on KZbin how to do this) this really is bad design but has been corrected for the Atom which is +/- 4 adjustment and works fine with my "eyes". The only fault I can find with the Atom is the illuminated reticule switch which is pretty crap, well mine is anyway, but I probably wont use it but a heads up to those of you who might.

Nice scopes for sure, I have the Viper Connect 3-12x 24.. Sometimes the DOF is too good for HFT when trying to range find! lol

@@jacquesvanderschyff1367 Yes the Viper and the atom are similar spec wise in a fashion. However many peep's considering the Atom will probably be also considering it's bigger brother and want to know if it's any or much better ☺️

@@fieldsportcymru4636 yes I watched that one Paul but you still decided to test the atom again but against the viper and therefore it would have seemed logical to include the 12x50 as well. I’m not being critical just curious as why it was excluded.

Thats odd ive had your comment but for some reason its not showing up on the channel. I did a reviews of the bigger prismatic scope and its also got excellent image quality and is brighter than its little brother .

@@fieldsportcymru4636 So just to quickly sum up despite the 12x50 being brighter than the Atom you'd plum for the Atom. Genuinely interested I have the Atom!

@@zebedee4 I just like how tiny and compact it is ,i have already got bright high mag bigger scopes so am specifically looking for a very light weight compact scope and the Atom ticks all those boxes
