Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower kzbin.infoUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.

Yo!!! Thank you so much for showing that white ring thing that can fall out. Mine did and I was freakin LOST. Like a 4 year old in walmart on black friday when his mom runs away to get that sweet sweet deal on a 45 inch tv and then forgets about the kid cause she had to beat up the elderly guy to get that last tv! Anyways this was my 1st time digging this deep into a lawnmower! I normally just dig deep holes to hide the bodies! 😉 I watched 3 other videos and none of those dumb asses thought it in important enough to show me that ventriloquist or whatever you called that freaky white ring thing! And hey, you were right it doesnt run without it. So i dug back into the belly of the free beast that my mom gave me cause the price of new lawnmowers is crazier than I am....... Where was i.... Oh... Well i found your video and its DOPE! Straight to the point! Not like this comment thats more like a review.... So 5 gold star stickers for you buddy! nice video, thanks. Oh yeah. I did get that old crappy mower runnin! All thanks to you saving me, well you said $80 but today its probably way freaking more! So thanks for saving me like $93 bucks or more!

yes your needle valve under the float is stuck open. my guess is you didnt get it clicked all the way in. remove carb remove float rinse and reassemble making sure float is completely clicked in place. with carb off pull motor over many times it will eventualy dry out and fire up, shut off as soon as it fires. or remove plug pull over many times at least 20. rinse plug with carb cleaner reinstall. you may have to repeat this a few times.

The pin that held on the float valve slipped out very quickly for me and landed on the floor. I was very lucky to find it. What I found after cleaning the carb was that the little plastic seat that the pin valve was going into -- it was breaking apart. So, I had to get a rebuild kit.

@SportsMusicCars
@SportsMusicCars Жыл бұрын
Our MTD w/ B&S engine, 6 yrs old, ran it until it stopped at the end of last season to get rid of all the gas, like always. This season, it won't start. Tested for spark, all good there. Swapped out a new plug, pulled 4x, removed the plug, it's dry as a bone and the gas tank is filled. Gotta be the carb is clogged. Now to do this work, and pop in a new air filter, too.

This dude is spot on with his fixit video, this would have solved my problem had I not dropped my carb and launched the float valve needle into the lawn never to be seen again right before being attacked by red wasps. For those who come later the replacement part number should be 231855S, I will return to confirm this once it comes in the mail and I reassemble things.

@@smallengineguys Yeah ya got me. I ended up having to put the entire new unit in. I swapped the needle valve in from the new unit and it didn't function but the entire new unit worked toot sweet. And I think the replacement stainless needle got lost in the mail because it hasn't shown up yet for testing. Anyway, thanks for the video. I found a lawn mower on the side of the road yesterday and all this diagnostic stuff is a great hobby! I got it running in about 45 minutes and it too will need a fresh carb because of bad gaskets in the float bowl and priming bulb. Go figure. Leaks gas everywhere but it started up without to much of a fuss once fresh fluids had gotten everywhere. :)

Now when you pour gas in the tank it just pours gas out through the carb into the throat of the carb and even pour gas out of the white nozzle above the fuel entry hose. I am going to buy a new carb for it. Not sure what the problem is. Also the float is not sticking I can hear it moving when i shake it a bit even after Ive pulled it back off with all the gas in it. @@smallengineguys Admittedly, it has been some years since I cracked one open and wanted to know what I was getting into before I did. This carb is actually a bit different than the carb on my GY6 (and most other carbs I've seen, which isn't many really). Plastic, for starters, and a different layout. The carb on my GY6 had all brass threaded jets, if I remember right. This one had a plastic mold in place for multiple jets. I guess it is possible that we could be thinking of two different carbs for the GY6. I know there was at least a few designs, but I only worked with the one.

so it should be set at full throttle at all times. spring is under gas tank. bogging out and stopping is carb. jet needs to be cleaner. or the little white piece in carb mouth fell out its round and white. or you forgot to install o ring between motor and carb in carb before putting carb back on.

Great video, cleaned the carb, but still only runs off the fuel primed in, then dies. Strange part is, it will keep running if I tilt it 45 degrees on the left side. I figured, it was the float/needle, but it appears to functioning fine. If anyone has any advice, thank you ahead of time!
@smallengineguys
@smallengineguys 3 жыл бұрын
sounds like the little plastic piece that goes in the carb had fallen out. it will be round tube shaped. super important. or you still haven't cleaned the jet completely. you may need to poke it with a wire from a wire wheel. or use 14k testing solution to boil it out. amzn.to/32nQwp2 if the jet isn't perfectly clean it wont run.

My mower will crank and run for a few seconds then die. It won’t crank unless I prime it 3 times again. Then it’ll do the same thing. I pulled the carb off, sprayed the jet down with carb cleaner. I reassembled the carb, but the mower is still doing it. Could I have not cleaned the jet well enough?
@smallengineguys

Jet needs to be cleaned better. Try pulling a wire out of a wire wheel and poking threw the jet then spraying.

@@smallengineguys Hi, just wanted to let you know that the mower is running great now! I ran the wire through the jet quite thoroughly and then hit it with carburetor cleaner, reassembled it, and she cranked right up and is running like a charm. Thank you and I’m subscribing!

sounds like you didn't get the float and needle valve clicked all the way in or fuel line is bad.

@@davew4343 no its the other white part that floats in the bowl held on by a pin and the needle underneath it. That controls gas flow.

So this is how i test it. I take off the airfilter i spray carb or brake clean in the carb. Try to start it many times if it fires and shuts off its carb. If not its time to check plug, compression, and spark. It is carb 90percent of the time.

@@smallengineguys Well, I got it to pull start, again, and it runs, but it runs erratically... and the whole lawn mower lurches to one side, every 2 or 3 seconds. I suspect maybe it is that needle valve... if it is pushed a little too far back, maybe it isn't opening enough. My other hypothesis is that maybe one of the jets isn't blown enough, yet. Not really certain... But here is a clue that makes me sure it is still a lean fuel issue: While it's running, I sprayed starter fluid onto the air box, and the lurching motion, and erratic running, both stop, for about 15-25 seconds, while the mower consumes the ether / petroleum distillate spray.
