I personally preferred without this feature for Magic games because it's easier for me to accidentally get a spoiler for how long a game is. Each to their own I guess. It still does show dedication so spot on though however LVD is renowned for his dedication to detail anyway.

It seems like in the current meta the prevalence of a deck is quite strongly tied to how relevant its 1 and 2 drops stay into the midgame. You can almost list the decks roughly by their meta prevalence, and it seems to line up with the midgame relevance of the 1 drops (with the exception of the Omnath deck): Red (Fervent Champion, Fireblade Charger) Rogues (Thieves Guild Enforcer, Merfolk Windrobber) White (Speaker of the Heavens, Alseid of Life's Bounty) Cycling (Flourishing Fox) Green (Lovestruck Beast) Adventures (Edgewall Innkeeper) Black (Archfiend's Vessel) Mill (Ruin Crab) And similarly for 2 drops. I think there's a lot of archetypes in Standard that are being buried simply because they don't have good 1 drops that fit the deck, and they get run over by all of the above. (It's not these decks always have a turn 1 play, but on the balance of numbers, it seems better to play those that sometimes do over those that never do). Meanwhile, there aren't many ways to catch up when playing from behind. For example, the sweepers available often miss things or are too expensive. When your opponent plays four relevant threats by turn three and you don't, your sweeper has to hit _everything_ or you're still going to die.

maybe things just deal too much dmg, like maybe a 4cmc 4/4 haste is too often too hard to deal with. Maybe we just need 25 starting life.

Just made myself a black/white cleric deck. All about me gaining life and when i do opponents lose life. I was originally going to try to use the new party mechanic from Zendikar rising but once i went through my clerics i realized that i could make a badass life gain deck.

Aspirant is so strong in a deck with one-drops that have good abilities. Steroids for any creature you want, and the opponent has to deliberate whether to remove the immediate threat or the Aspirant.

I think they are cool being exclusive to arena. However, they need to state it somewhere that they are not standard legal. I added a orator to my scute mob sideboard and a inspiring leader to the main and I did not know that wouldn't let me let standard. They came with the starting decks so I figured they were all legal...

Is it worth it to drop 2 plains for 2 Emerias call? Seems pretty nice to protect and create a clock if the game goes on too long but maybe it’s just too slow of a spell for an aggro deck Edit: nvm I’m stupid. I forgot about lurrus’ companion requirement

might be working better but on an emotional level, a cleric deck without it's all stars is not worth to be played, 3x taborax and 2 orah minumum gonna be in my deck, if i lose all games, i try to improve it, in this case key pieces are missing so i just play another deck

Angel of destiny just needs to attack. Doesn’t even need to hit player for damage for its win trigger to work. He should have just attacked you and won.

@@LegenVD I run a similar black/white cleric deck, but without the Lurrus in there and I have different removal spells in mine. Also have Vito and a few Marauding Blight-Priests in it, and some Sanitarium Skeletons as chunk blockers and sacrifice engines for some of my lifegain/card draw artifacts.

At 15:50 weren't you dead? The text on the angel is whoever it attacked loses the game. It didn't say whoever takes damage. So even if you double blocked, you'd lose at end step. Why did he scoop?

Blood chiefs thirst is a strong card but since you're in orzhov with a lot of humans hanging around why not run dire tactics instead? It exiles at instant speed for a white and a black. Most people don't realize how strong it is because its human and color requirements but when in Rome.

Just make sure you have "not collected" enabled in the filters. You get some from the starter decks and you can craft more with wildcards.

What is up with people playing more than 60 cards in their decks? Dont they realize that drawing their needed cards will be a longtime to wait and dont they know that its better to have it at least 60?! Puzzles me that players can make it to Platinum level 2 running 150 plus card decks. Also, i see a lot of players running cycle decks and tutelage decks with the crab from zendikar rising, what a lame way to win

Americanna Aesthetic It’s because they also have the option of being cast as a spell. Because of this versatility, it’s reasonable they have a large downside for coming into play untapped. Also, only the mythic cycle has the option of being untapped, while the rare and uncommon cycles are always tapped.
