Great deck and fun to watch. Putting counters on GW creatures is my favorite thing in Magic. There are other fun interactions but filling the table with counters is by far the most satisfying thing when I play the game. Well and then there is that one opponents whose favorite Magic experience is to end my joy with a sweeper...but I wont give up until the last counter is placed!

I also made a similar deck, unfortunately I don't have access to that many rares and mythic rares, eg. I have only one henge and none of the flip lands. But I was still surprised you did not go with a gnarled colony. I play it coupled with ram through as removal which works rather well even to finish off opponents when you have a gnarled colony out together with a huge scourge. Nessian hornbeetle also works well. And I added 2 or 3 colossal majesties which really speeds up the mid game. edit: also really surprised by the lack of ozoliths, it also acts as great insurance against removal and bounce effects since you keep whatever strength you have gathered. great video though, I really like how we can follow the thought process that goes into building an playing the deck!

Skyclave Apparition is a superb tempo interaction in a creature. You want at least 2 copy in main deck and 2 in sideboard even if it doesn't have any counter synergy, it won't hurt the deck. Archon of Emeria is super effective against ramp Omnath, 3 copies in sideboard. The deck has all the tools to deal with almost everything. The only problem i see is control deck full of black removals that have Ugin as finisher, for these deck Garruk's Harbinger is essential and game breaking.

Awhhh, I was just playing a very similar deck 2 days ago. It played 4 Invigorating Surges rather than the 2 Henges, and minus 2 Inscriptions. Great video ...It almost makes me sad when you and Mtg Goldfish/ streamers play decks though because then I face nothing but them lol. I was playing rogues for 2 full days until all of a sudden now All I face is rogues. It disappoints me. I wish the meta was wider I guess.

I often find gemrazer saves me from flying creatures. It synergizes with counters and adds enchantment and equipment removal as well

Been running this deck with felidar retreat. More often than not, when I get to Felidar retreat it just takes over the game by itself, but with a couple of +1/+1 counter synergy creatures it does get a nice boost.

Why no heroic interventions? 2-3 seem like a good inclusion, even if they aren't running sweepers, just to make better attacks / avoid spot removal.

Doesn't help vs Ugin. This is also a critical mass deck, so every card that's not a creature with +1/+1 counters needs to be heavily scrutinized.

@@whichonespink7542 That does make a lot of sense. The main reason I plan on running black is so I can use a couple cards like, Pulkanos or how ever you spell it. I feel as though the 6 counters for 4 and 12 for I think six plus exile would work pretty good. Of course I also plan on running Ozolith to recycle all the counters on my poor dead creatures.

@@sweeswaa6217 Yeah, Polukranos seems like a good reason to splash black. It doesn't go so well with the Scourge, but it's awesome with a Mentor in play. Could also maybe try Grakmaw as some sweeper insurance, but that might be going too far into black. Either way, hope it works out mate!! :))

I have been playing this deck for months now, and you are missing 2 really important pieces imho: basri and ozolith. Basri not only boost everything, but also threaten a win turn 6. I added goose to play him 1 turn before. If basri sticks, I never lose. And the ozolith is just amazing: everything that they kill, is like they didn't killed it. And with swarm and lieutenant spawning new creatures all the time to target with ozolith is like their removal is useless. I also added 2x Bala Ged Recovery and 2x Sejiri Shelter, but I'm testing them out since they enter tapped. Emeria is free, so a 2x is ok too.

And I also thought about adding black, but not only for drakmaw and polukronos (btw scourge is quite good, but not amazing without a trampler enabler like gnarlid colony, and is the first cut I made in my GW deck for the new zendikar cards), but for Call of the Death-Dweller (amazing with ozolith) and taborax (since luminarc and conclave are clerics. Also black mythic lands can be amazing as a recursion. But I stayed with GW instead of abzan because I was scared of the manabase: since the deck is supposed to be aggro, and since we are lacking battle lands or the combination of dual lands + checks, I didn't want to slow it too much. I don't have the wildcards to try the abzan, maybe you can check it out for us?

Ozolith is too conditional and between Thallid and Lieutenant we already have a similar effect. Basri is too difficult on the mana and is quite bad when you're behind.

Thought to myself, what kind of loser plays a meta deck thats been around for a year in a non-ranked play que. I wonder if it was you? If I remember correctly he probably spammed emotes the whole time too. Also I like how you call it "your deck" as if you didnt just straight copy it from 1 of the many tournaments lists that have been around.
