I like this deck a lot. I use some of the elements already in my mono-blue aggro, as well as tempest djinn, trickster, walking ballista, and some vehicles currently. when rotation hits ill be throwing in the voltaic brawlers because traxos becomes that much better. no abrades, no push, cast down-proof, outside of red damage, bigger than most creatures at the curve. voltaic servant on curve on turn 3 becoming a 5/5 with animator that swings and then untaps at end of turn or taps to cast Zahid on turn 4 and then untaps is nasty. Zack Industries I’d start with Fountain of renewal & wand of vertebrae, 4 Lich (also a Zombie) & 4 Phyrexian Scriptures. The question is aggro or control? Goal is to 3rd turn Lich, 4th turn Scriptures making Lich 6/6 and an indestructible artifact (Darksteel), the next lich cast places Phylactery Counter on Indestructible 6/6 Artifact Lich. Unfortunately the Lich is not hexproof.

Hi Dev, I have watched your videos for quite a while now. Haven't commented up until now. I very much enjoy your content, however I need to throw my 2 cents into this deck. It sounded like a totally interesting idea, but this is such an ineffective deck. Perhaps I am missing the point, and am not playing it properly...perhaps you can elaborate for my benefit? Once you hit turn 3 or 4 what should the play priority be? The antiquities war, the Djinn, Karn or the gatebreaker? The three turn countdown on the war, has usually just been the countdown to me losing the game....should I be dumping out artifacts as fast as possible, or should I be holding them for a Sai or for a war? Seems most of the time I am left with all the 4 drops with three lands, and it all peters out. Played it on Arena several times, with success only once...and only because my opponent essentially got land screwed. Its such a slow playing deck, it needs something in there to speed it up...more than just an extra land in hand can do for it. Any little guys I manage to get out on turn two or three simply get plowed to dust, and the blue artificers are such targets they never last a turn to even gain any utilization. The synergy you discussed seemed completely absent. Thanks

Tony Mammel depends on hand. It’s a combo/agro deck. Turn 3 you want to play a skilled animator or a Sai. Never attack with Sai or Animators. Turn 4 (if Sai is in play) cast artifacts, make thopters. If Sai is not in play, cast Zahid. If neither Zahid nor Sai are in play/in hand cast antiquities war( get blockers/lifegain) /Tezzeret’s Gatebreaker for Getting Sai/Zahid. Turn 5 antiquities War part 2 for Gatebeaker, Turn 6 Antiquities War part 3 , activate gatebreaker, swing for 20+ unblockable. Ideally you want to gain life early, take damage, curve out by turn 4 and not die (chump block/gain life) vs R/RB/G aggro decks until you can swing for lethal. Control matchups are where the negates come in for protecting Sai, Zahid, & antiquities War (win conditions), and it’s easier to peck away at opponent’s life. Opening hand: anything more than 2 lands is too many. Travelers amulet fixes land and shortens deck, zhalfarin void - scry land to bottom. Hope that helps.

Okay, this crushes on the Kitchen Table and held up against R/B, Mono Red, and Green Stompy. Havent faced UW Control or Fog with it though. Made a variation somewhat rotation proof of this using R/U artifacts with 2 copies of Jhora and a Locust God. Yeah the God rotates out but, honestly it could be swapped out easily with another big threat.. Great deck tec Dev

*Can someone help me out ?* I'm started MTG a few days ago (played it when i few years ago so i know basics) I play a mono-Blue Mill deck and use a lot of counterspells (like Nagate, Essance Scatter.... ) But a few days ago I found *Remove Soul* , Wich is basicly Essance Scatter with a different name (same cost, Blue, same effect, also a instant *But differ Name* ) Can i play both cards 4 times now (so 8 cards with the same efect) or do i need to treat both as the same and limit it to 4?

It comes down to how efficient is Jhoira’s etc? At 4 mana, Would you rather have: a 2/2 flyer that dies to everything(Jhoira’s familiar) or a Tezzeret Gatebreaker; a Karn; Zahid, Djinn of the Lamp; Traxos, Scourge of Kroog; or The Antiquities War Saga? How many copies of Jhoira’s would the deck need to run to actually benefit from it’s ability? Powerstone Shards would be cool, but seem a little expensive. For the same mana cost: a Skyscanner draws a card, puts a 1/1 body in the air, and can be upgraded to a 5/5 flyer with Artificer & Antiquities. Also for same mana cost: 1x Fountain of Renewal & 1x Urza’s Tome. Artificer’s assistant is cute, but will not survive past end of turn->opponent 2nd main phase. Gearsmith can take out opponent’s 1-2 drops (Elves, goblins, zombies..everything but Knights with First Strike), Art Assistant just dies.

Aaronius Majoris Powerstone Shard very quickly pays for itself if you can put two down, even more if you can put down three. Jhoira's Familiar isn't there to do much more than be a 2/2 flier that makes everything else cheaper. That being said it makes your legendaries, Sagas and Artifacts cheaper. I usually run three in addition to an Immortal Sun, making them 3/3 fliers for 4-(x+1 where x is the number of Jhoira's Familiar) that make things cheaper. What's more, combine them with a certain saga, and suddenly you've got 5/5 fliers that make things cheaper. I've just rotation-proofed my deck, otherwise they'd also have 4 artifact anthems on top of that, making artifacts into 9/9s. I also tend to run Mishra's Self Replicator, so having cheaper creatures means I can make more copies. For the sake of experimentation, a friend and I went to the theoretical last card of our game and I made it to 90K damage without any damage enhancement spells, just from the sheer number of creatures on the board.

I feel like sai should be a 4 of. The deck basically runs through him and that means he will draw removal. Youll want him in every opening hand(or as much as possible). Could definitely cut down on a one drop artifact.

I'm currently running u/B improvise for funsies and you really don't want the fourth Sai. Multiple Sais flat out suck and the deck needs to make sure counters one and two on antiquities war don't whiff so you really need to keep the non. Artifacts to a minimum. Also Sai is really resilient to removal currently so there's no real fear of needing a backup Sai like you would a Thalia in modern.

MrDevil313 I built a cheaper version of Dev’s mill deck and got completely destroyed by my friend’s budget rakdos burn deck... just play something fast. Also, blue doesn’t removal outside of bounce spells, once something hits the board it generally stays there so try to abuse the times where your opponent is tapped out and try to bait out counterspells. bruno chirilo There's a 2 CMC blue spell that returns thibgs to your hand and has a kicker that let's you also draw a card. Not exactly a blink but it serves purpose without splashing another colour. Ravnica is bound to give us some kind of blink a la ghostway.
