Tried this out on mtgo, although I don't have the $ for history. I used 3x Arboreturm Elemental and 3x Worldsoul Colossus along with 3x Leonin Warleader (I didn't have some of the cards you mentioned in this deck) and it works awesome

@Kel'Thuzad yeah seriously. I bought a bunch of stuff for dimir surveil and I'm going to make a list similar to Devs turbo surveil for paper and on magic arena. But man a lot of these cards have shot up in price. Im pretty surprised so much stuff is being ran and all these top meta decks are falling into the guild identities

I made a similar build, only I added healer's hawk, fountain of renewal and Ajani's Pridemate. I pump the pridemate as well as casting other creatures with token creation abilities and cast Ghalta, along with some convoke stuff.

Token builds are not really my thing, but it's always good to know what you might go up against … definitely interested in a budget build for this deck, regardless of the previous mentioned, as it be interesting to see a budget version and compare it in regards to power level and such.

I wanted to go Boros or Golgari this season, but my packs I pulled so much Selesnya I had to try something. But I'm working with a couple Divine Visitation. It's so fun to get off, but I haven't played the deck enough to see how often it becomes a dead card.

Would this deck be a good start into Mtg? I played with my starter deck now and want to get my "own" deck. I really enjoy the artworks and the way it works. I got already some of the new cards for the deck from boosters so I have a starting point to build it up.

What about (maybe in a more budget option) running heroic reinforcements? I know that splashing red is gonna hurt consistency but heroic can lead to an explosive turn out of nowhere.

The version I brewed runs it. I don't know if this would be considered janky or not, but with Divine visitation you get a free 8 dmg from the tokens alone.

This has nothing to do with this deck I was just hoping you guys could help me out. I played mtg mid 90's and just now decided to get back into it and love the channel. I really like and am trying to build a deck around lich's mastery. My question is if lichs forces me to exile cards can I trigger other cards that are triggered by exiling or does it not work that way bc lichs is forcing me to do so. If anybody can help me out I'd really appreciate it

Can you explain why you think Tendershoot Dryad isn't a good choice to put in here? In my limited experience, it seems she can often end games just by herself. She also synergizes well with saproling migration, and is generally just a huge token engine. Not a fan?

The two toughness and lack of immediate effect is likely why. Mono red and blue red are very common in this format each running a ton of burn spells that will immediately kill her. And since her ability doesn't happen til the start of your opponents turn, it can end up just trading with your opponents shock, which feels bad

Without a doubt Huatli, Radiant Champion isn't getting enough love, ESPECIALLY in such an explosive token-based deck. I've had her on 8+ loyalty on turn 4 and threaten to ultimate the next. If she gets to, ho boy! March gets STUPIDLY good!

but turn 4 is also where you are facing most wraths. and her ult isnt a game ender just a facilitator. if you emptied your hand to play her turn 4, then draw into land you are just as dead as anyone else. reid and ajani both give you board state.

They've either spent their turn dealing with my creatures or Huatli. Either way, they're a little behind.

in a meta where playing decks with 18 control spells, 12 draw that is really closer to 20 due to jump start and only 6 -8 creatures in your opponents deck... they dont give a fuck about that.

No Tendershoot Dryad? By the time you're able to cast it, you're practically guaranteed to have the city's blessing...and it generates a token EVERY UPKEEP (yep, including your opponent's), plus pumping them. Easy-casting, too; no double-green or green-white needed. Also, I'd expect the defense rating to be a little higher since you have a growing number of chump blockers if necessary, at least on the ground.

I want your take on the most competitive mono red deck available right now. so far I have something built using Goblin chainwhirler rekindling Phoenix and risk factor I just don't know what the best other pieces are. I'm thinking maybe shock lightning strike and Banefire but I don't know if there are some other options that I'm not considering

This deck with Divine Visitation and Greater Auramancy ist just a beast. Opponent can't touch the divine Visitation because of Greater Auramancy while it turns all token creatures that are created into 4/4 flying angels with vigilance

If you aren't running History you can switch to primary green. Take out the costs of Legion's Landing and History for Llanowar Elves and Song of Freyalise. Then just add a little extra big stuff since you have way more ramp. You should be able to come up with something.

How about Pride of Conquerors? You'll easily and quickly get the blessing, and with it you can protect all your creatures against a board sweep like Fiery Cannonade or perhaps Deafening Clarion (if you have Trostani or something like that) for as little as 2 mana... Otherwise I like this deck :)

You can just tap lands for mana, no need to tap creatures

Its funny that the bad version of a mono green deck I've been playing on Arena has absolutely destroyed this tokens deck every time I've played it...a 5/4 that cant be blocked by essentially everything in this deck that comes down on Turn 2 beats it, as does Ghalta.
