I like the idea of the deck but it looks that if u can't find or they remove your doom...well u are doomed :P (sry for that couldn't help it) Joking aside,the version of regular monored creature heavy aggro would be more viable since u don't rely 100% on doom to win.However your opponent's removal would not be dead cards since u would have tons of targets and in this deck u have many more removal than with the other version.

Important to note, you can cast two 1CMC spells without passing priority to jump your imminent doom up to 3 counters without casting a 2CMC spell. I don't think you get extra damage because it refers to the number of counters when cast, but you get an extra trigger where you wouldn't normally get one.

White Nerd That's true unless it's on the stack. On the stack, a spell counts any amount paid into X toward its cmc. So, if you made X=3, its cmc on the stack is 4 (3 from x and 1 from the red).

While on the stack, the cmc of the spell is equal to whatever it would be if X was included. For example a Walking Ballista that is cast for X = 2 has a converted mana cost of 4 while it is on the stack. Everywhere else, it has a convertet mana cost of 0.

Question, if you have doom in play at 2 counters. You cast cathartic reunion discarding fiery temper. Assuming you play the madness cost on Fiery, will you get both triggers for doom to bring it to 4 counters? I feel like you don't get that sweet synergy because; Cast cathartic, discard fiery, trigger doom. On the stack before either resolves, you now have to resolve fiery's madness ability since it was discarded as a cost If you pay madness, you won't get the trigger since doom counter is at 2 and fiery is a 3 cmc card. Would be great if it worked though.

Quick question. You have 2 counters on doom and cast tormenting voice discarding fiery temper. Can you stack the triggers to get your 2cost and the 3cost spell on doom? Cuz getting 8 damage and drawing 2 cards for 3 mana seems good.

That would be crazy good, but you can't. Because Cathartic Reunion and Tormenting Voice have discard as an extra cost, Fiery Temper will end up responding to them, and so it will resolve before it.

When you cast Tormenting Voice, you place the spell on the stack and pay it's additional cost of discarding a card. So both the Imminent Doom trigger and the Madness trigger of Fiery Temper go on the stack at the same time, right? If you stack them correctly, you should be able to let the Imminent Doom trigger resolve first, and then choose to pay Madness cost for Fiery Temper and cast the spell with 3 doom counters on Imminent Doom. You should indeed be able to cycle Tormenting Voice + Fiery Temper for 3 mana and 8 damage spread over up to 3 targets in portions of 2, 3 and 3.

When talking about converted mana cost, i thought X counts as zero, not how much mana you put in it.

Tibsy when a card references a card's converted mana cost on cast (i.e. imminent doom or the counter from Khans of Tarkir that counters a spell with CMC 4 or greater), X is whatever mana was put into it; any other zone, X is considered 0.

Here I am bein like "You can totally get to trigger Imminent Doom with bedlam" But when you add up 5, 6, and 7, you get 18 damage, and you realize that there's about a 0 to -1% chance that your opponent didn't take two damage at some point before you manage to Burn From Within for 5...
