Interesting to see how Phyrexian Tower & Flares would be put to use here. The turn 2 sequence of Evoke Grief + Sac Grief to Tower + Buried Alive possibly with flare afterwards seems sick

what I like about this list is that you could also play it as a more traditional reanimator deck. Swap the scam package for the vengevines, archons, and persist. more explosive but also more vulnerable.

Indeed! There are certainly a lot of options of which creatures to dig for. Arclight Phoenix sees play with Buried Alive in Legacy, but that's mainly because Dark Ritual is in the deck. We'll have to wait and see what happens when MH3 drops!

I wonder if there's something to be done with Insidious Roots here. That would be three different leaves triggers, nabbing a 1/2, 2/3, and 3/4 that can all tap for mana. Works with the grief reanimation as well.

On the brightside, MH3 has a bunch of support for creature decks, so comboing off with activated abilities are looking pretty promising!! Necrotic Ooze {2}{B}{B} Creature - Ooze As long as Necrotic Ooze is on the battlefield, it has all activated abilities of all creature cards in all graveyards.
