I would like to say that I made a Gruul midrange shell with this combo in the sideboard. It won me many locals and I just wanted to say thanks. Saheeli Cat is my favorite combo and I have been building around it for years and seeing you use it helped my deck become what it is today so once again thanks.

Hmm... the metagames have been shifting so frequently that it's difficult to predict what will be relevant a month from now. Like, when Modern Horizons came out, Daddy's white infect deck was clapping dem cheeks cuz Hogaak was legal, and having Giver of Runes to make creatures unblockable to black was cray cray. Plus, lightning bolt and fatal push did nothing to stop Hogaak, so it was like a perfect storm to make white infect crazy good. But then Hogaak got banned, removal surged in the modern metagame, and white infect became pretty meh. So, yeah: predicting an unpredictable metagame be an uh-oh stinky!

Ironically, leyline would've been better than veil in many of these situations. It's hard to imagine making the deck more consistent. I'd personally still stick to LD with those colors. Turn 1 or 2 Trinisphere basically shuts down a LOT of decks in modern.

The decks problem from my experience is that it needs a haste effect besides saheeli in my first version of lukka it was just dorks and lightning greaves so I could chain dorks on turn 2 to get hasty emrakul on turn 3
