When I played the deck, I enjoyed playing at least 2 copies of ravens crime, as it allows to convert all the useless lands you draw into more card draw and mana, especially after a reforge the soul.

I was playing this deck a few years ago but boy has it gotten much better since then still pretty inconsistent but it's sideboard is better and I think the field is a little more friendly to it now than it was back then. I do have fond memories though of casting a purphoros and then resolving an empty the Warrens with storm count of 4 to win the game out of the sideboard

waste not is by far my favorite card. I've been playing esper control with waste not as the win con in modern. I don't win many matches, but the groans from my opponents as they discard their hand and are forced to play 50 minute matches are good enough for me.

Torment of Hailfire in side for leylines and similar stuff? So you can remove grapeshot entirely, bringing in Torment and Empty instead.

Also, you usually make a ton more mana than stormcount, so I think it'll be a better wincon sometimes, as you don't have to play that many cards between rituals and waste not to make a huge Torment. Think it might work well agains most decks that arent blue, then grapeshot is better.

I have a deck that's similar to this deck but mixes this with 8 rack. Something I'd found as a problem with this deck is if opponent goes hellbent that alone can seriously screw you alone. If that happens why not 6-9 them a turn with rack effects?

With so much storm hate and burn hate (for grapeshot) out there might it be worth a blue splash for temporal fissure? Either in maindeck or sideboard.Even if you don't have the storm count to win(with your other finishers) a storm count of 2 or 3 can still keep you alive in a lot of situations and it has the advantage of turning your waste nots back on if your opponent is playing a very fast deck that gets hellbent quickly like affinity

I now realize that this card is not modern legal i didn't recognize the set symbol in gather and just assumed that it was and I'm pretty certain waste not isn't powerful enough to work in legacy mainly do to a lack of redundancy available for a build around card that you ran into here

im 8 min in and 1st thing i think of since your gaining and excess of black mana, how about a one of torment of hailfire? makes them discards to get more mana, sac perms to get ahead on boards or lost 3 life. If you can poop out 18mana t3 and hailfire seems pretty good.

It's kind of a shame that Bone Miser, or something similiar, was never printed for a Modern legal set, apart from Waste Not. As for making the deck better? Alhammarret's Archive, maybe? My Dearest Kenobi, Tis I, Shivalry, also known as ProeliatorDeus on the KZbins. I bring to you, in the most humble and prostrate of manners, a few suggestions for your amazing Waste Not Storm deck. It would seem to me that the inclusion of 1 or 2 Goblin Bushwhackers either in the maindeck or sideboard would serve to bring about a swift end to our SJL opponents (Social Justice Lizard-People). Nothing says "Build me an army worthy of Mordor" like turning all those 2/2 Zombies and 1/1 Goblins into foaming at the mouth fanatics. Why give your opponent a turn to untap before you kill them? (I always say that, ask around, it's a thing I say)

Chris Tomsky oh I thought you meant putting them against each other. Waste not wants to discard your opponents stuff, while drawing cards in the process. Hollow one wants to dump it's own hand, and get a turn 1/2 hollow one, plus some creatures like vengevine or bloodfast that can come back at a later date.

True, but I mean the storm plan feels very hit or miss when he goes off. He's already discarding a TON of cards and cycling through his deck, why not toss down some free 4/4's and stuff to go with all the zombos and win with those? It can still be a pretty quick clock, just not a storm kill, and seems like it might be a bit more reliable? Idk, just a thought.

Stoneforge mystic should stay banned not because it's too powerful. But for the same reason Pod should stay banned. Every time they print an equiptment/ creature they need to think "does this break stoneforge/pod" and that is more of a headache than having stoneforge in the format is worth.

as a legacy player,I support this. People that say "muuuh people play karn on t3 stoneforge faiiiir you duuumb" Obviously never played with/against sfm,it's completly absurd with batterskull,making it a huge pain in the ass to deal with it,because unlike all other unfair deck,sfm decks are full of interaction. And it's impossible to deal with it without losing CA. It's not pod level of broken tho i think.But control is fine,imo print counterspell in modern before unbanning sfm,see how that shake things up.

Ethan Ford Ford stone forge doesn't need to be banned in a format with turn 2 KCI, turn 1 hollow one and turn 3 storm.
