I have no idea why Seth kept his hand in G1. No 1 or 2 drops being on the draw. Way to slow against control
@DakonBlackblade2
@DakonBlackblade2 4 жыл бұрын
Also if you look at the rest of his deck he had around a 50% chance of drawing something that wouldn´t help him at all in that situation. Keeping that hand was almost as bad as Carvalho keeping his hand on the last game of the finals.

It was a sketchy one but it's relatively explosive if he can double anax make four tokens and play torbran for the win

@@antoniobush4560 Against a control deck on the draw he should never be expecting to make that happen lol. That would require it to be turn 5 and PVDDR to have not answered anything on the board.
@DakonBlackblade2

@@antoniobush4560 Odds of him drawing what he needed were way too low. Not a risk someone that absolutly needed to win game 1 should ever take, specialy when we consider that the London Mulligan makes the first mulligan you take each game super OK.

Is esports online magic the same as the card game for cards and playing? Identical rules and cards online and offline?

Imagine having two players in one room who are 2 feet from each other, playing an electronic version of a paper game. I wish I appreciated Josh Utter Leytons shuffling and Brian Kiblers flicking more. I just appreciated that format of magic more. This online stuff is :(

Nah this is wayyyyy better. Easier to follow for casuals so you reach a bigger crowd, and it's difficult if not impossible to cheat.

The broadcast is way better on Arena than on paper, the info is conveied in a much more comprehensible way to the audience, you miss half the stuff going on when the championship is played with paper magic.

Magic Arena is killing Standard-Papermagic i got three local cardstores where i used to be and none of them are having FNM for Standard anymore.. only Pioneer and Modern
@Vardaris
@Vardaris 4 жыл бұрын
This is because standard at the moment is boring, it is like that since september, the last set changed things a bit but overall it is still pretty unfun. Arena has nothing to do with it.
@supremecourt4131

@@Vardaris This is totally subjective. It surely does have something to do with it. I know three cardstore owners and they all have the same opinion about this topic. Futhermore, Arena is less expensive than Paper.
@Vardaris
@Vardaris 4 жыл бұрын
@@supremecourt4131 Pioneer is more expensive than standard but thriving in paper as you say despite being available online on mtgo. Standard has taken a lot of blows the last few years. Many unbalanced standard formats, power creep, multiple bannings, very dominant decks that cannot be answered and more.... people are getting frustrated and found an alternative in pioneer. This is not subjective as the numbers talk by themselves.
@supremecourt4131

@@Vardaris Yes i partially agree with you. But Arena is a big reason too, trust me. I am not living in a big city so it is really frustrating for me to see my hobby fading away.. I don't want to play Magic Arena. I could start with Pioneer but this would be a big investment again.

The problem isn't magic arena. The problem is the corporate profit motive that kills something you love for financial gain.
@albertjemna6088

I think that's the issue with MtG Arena, letting the computer "do the shuffle" for you. We may have bad hands in real life as well, but at least we do not depend on how the algorithm decides which way the game goes. Plus, this London Mulligan principle doesn't allow players to get a fresh hand (talking about normal matches, not as seen in these official matches). Together, the 2 facts mentioned above can sometimes make a match very difficult, offering an unfair advantage to a player, and a massive disadvantage to the other (happened to mulligan to 1, obviously didn't win that game, was playing Seth's deck). But I guess I'm not the only one who has already pointed out these issues.
