i had a similar idea with this and phyrexian vindicator or cards that make your creatures indestructible. then you can bounce the damage, no matter how small, between two creatures until you have enough to finish someone off. i dubbed the deck "volleyball" since you are passing back a ball before spiking it

Boros charm does the trick pretty easily, You can use Rollercrusher Ride to get the ping pong going in standard but you need delirium unfortunately.

Very low odds that the opponent wouldn't find the line. They did have a mutavault and one locked unholy annex. Get hit for 6 and drained for 6. Maybe a line to find, but not from there.

I think it's actually a better backup plan, since unlike Solpim, it doubles ALL non-combat damage, works for the 20-damage combo, and costs 3 mana. I don't think Obosh is worth losing all your 2-drops, but Rollercrusher works if you want to do that.

If you can get delirium, The Rollercrusher Ride works as another 3-mana damage doubler that sticks on the battlefield (and can function as 2(+)-for-1 removal at 5(+) mana). I feel like there's already more than enough rummaging to get you there if you tweak the types for more artifacts and/or sorceries.

There are actually a lot of damage doublers in Standard as well. City on Fire (expensive...but also triples), Gratuitous Violence (for creatures), Rollercrusher with delirium, Twinflame Tyrant (for opponents' stuff, like Solphim). Imodane also kind of doubles with the burn triggers in a way.

I can't be the only one that immediately skips the deck description at the start of these videos because I'd rather see the deck in action and discover how it works that way instead of having it explained and "spoiled" up front. Plus it avoids situations where you think it's exciting but the combo is too magical christmasland to actually work and he never pulls it off in an actual game.

I was hoping you'd showcase something like this after Richard talked about "burn scam" for modern a while back. I've been thinking of a way to make this work in standard ever since then with solphim and rollercrusher ride existing. Even more-so with the advent of twinflame tyrant. So far it's not very deadly outside of doing normal mono-red burn things.

in the 2nd game, with 5 lands on your field and a lightning axe and mountain in your hand, you had lethal. play the land, tap 6 lands, have 6 mana, play lightning axe for 1 red and use the other 5 red to pay the 5 generic. that card says pay 5 generic or discard a card to play. you could have paid the 5.

I've played a similar deck at multiple comp REL Pioneer events and won just over 50% matches all told. Mine was Fires of Invention, plus Fight with Fire and Solphim. Lots of fun. Even got Narset Reversaled once. That sucked. But was still fun.

Seth, I have a commander question for you. Have you ever thought about using Peregrin Took as a way to make Crim hate green even more? He is the god of infinite combos with cards like Nuka Cola Machine and the like that generates tokens with little cost, and most of the Station cards (grinding, blasting, and summoning). I just hope you run one of the craziest green commanders to combo Crim into pure hatred for green

Had a commander deck headed by themberchaud with a similar plan. My side is full of stuffy doll type creatures that reflect damage, plus I had repurcussion. Chonky dragon hit the board and their life totals went low, low, low. How to avoid the draw in mono-red? Witch's clinic for instant speed lifelink. Lotta land tutors and flicker to add consistancy.
