MTH C&O E8 Unboxed

This is a un-boxing and test run of a PS3 MTH C&O E-8 A unit diesel engine. It features all LED lighting and passenger sound announcements (PSA) from the C&O "George Washington" which ran from my home in DC to Ohio. Included is a speed run with a 5 car C&O "George Washington" madison passenger consist. Also featured is a discussion of my MTH PS3 2-8-0 Western Maryland # 734. This engine will replace my C&O ABA F3 engine that I converted from PS1 to PS2. I like the improved sounds, details and LED lighting of the MTH PS3 engines.

Purple is always good. Mario's comes through again. The Mars light and dual exhaust are nice touches.

Thanks! The E's were the some of the best looking diesels post war. I like the fact that they had two prime movers and triple axel trucks. That B&O EA is insanely beautiful. Wish MTH had made a model of it.

Very nice unit ken. If your interested there is a wmsrr 501 GP38 that mth also. I don’t know if they have any left. The 501 goes with the 502 they had done previously. Both of them are in the wm circus paint scheme

I recently sold that E8 when I found an older (but still PS3) E8 ABA set for only $250 more. The ABA set features 2 powered A units with smoke. I was considering buying a new unpowered A unit for $250 to make a A-A set. Glad I sold the single A and got a much more powerful ABA set. Will make video featuring it soon.
