Great idea as long as the crops are organic and not grown with GMO's and round up etc., or using the toxic seeds sold by Bill Gates and the seeds from those who bought out Monsantos toxic GMO seeds.

Great and urgently needed! These are the lacking areas..... 1. Mechanical farming..... Agricultural machineries are import free, so anyone in the diaspora thinking of farming, get machines, that the only way you can see profits.....u can also rent machines to others.... that's a business by itself. 2. Storage facilities.....you could build that and buy in season then sell out of season to maximize profits... post harvest losses are huge in Ghana and Africa. 3. Irrigation farming and technics 4. Diary farming......Ghana imports milk yet we have lots of cattle in the north which are mostly grown for meat. 5. Farming is the key but we need to mechanize it, provide subsidies and farm insurances, available loans for farms at most of 3% interest rate per annum. Many more ideas .....lastly farmers need to come together to have a collective voice cos the farmer in Australia is not poor.......

It sounds like a great idea. I think if I can be honest as a person approaching this conversation with "western eyes" I am leary. Africa has a history of outsiders profiting off of the resources of "the motherland". Before I invest I just want to make sure I am loving the people well as I seek to grow my own portfolio.

The solution is simple!! Afrikan governments needs to start to subsides agriculture like they they do in North America and Asia. In the EU the have the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) which means that every member state has to subsides their farmers and create markets for those farmers but in Ghana , the Government of Ghana does not subsidies the Ghanaian farmers who are left to own devices and find it hard to borrow money from the banks to invest in their farm because the banks view them as high risk because they the banks, do not see the potential of backing farmers by lending money but ironically these banks workers eat right, so how does the food bank workers eat get to their plate??? see the Ghanaian mentality!!! But the government recently passed a bill that allows parliament to get car loans for 275 MP's to the value of30 million USD but this very same government cannot pass a bill to create subsidies for farmers!! See how wicked and ineffective the government of Ghana is!!! what is more important, food security or driving round in nice cars!!!

We can help, their government is not going to help them. $20 usd is equal to $143 if you got some family members to chip in $20 a piece you can invest and quite possibly make a profit. We throw $20 away like nothing. At least lets try to practice group economics. I bought land in Ghana practicing group economics. We can do this! We must do something Amerikkka is going down. Fantastic! I saw something on Ghana media about buying harvested crops and having some entity store it for you (on an app) and you can sell it when you want...they provide the storage of the crop to avoid crop waste. Good times ahead for Ghana.

i like this idea, but i would want to know more in depth about farming practices - cover cropping, crop diversity, pesticides, etc. also, do they test soil? how crops are irrigated, etc. the website says they use no genetically engineered crops, so that's a relief.

@@afro_samurai8713 i don't know if every/most crop grown in ghana is a gmo crop, though there are certain gm that are grown. gmo rice, papaya, tomato, soy, etc.) are grown. but, that doesn't mean every tomato or papaya you get is a gmo crop, esp. if grown by a small market farmer. they probably wouldn't have the money to buy a gmo tomato seed or potato every season.

There is an issue of poverty in Africa and start a business is certainly one of the solutions to addressing this issue. Having said that the idea of starting an agriculture business with less than $50,00 and how the idea is developed can be misleading. For instance consider the idea of earnings per share and consider two different people one who has only one share of $50,00 and the other who has 1000 shares of $50,00. Certainly the one who has more shares is better of. It is in view the same problem here. The poor who can only afford $50,00 can believe by investing that amount he or she effectively starts a business. And in every certainty at such level. that business cannot address the issue of poverty. The suffering of millions must be consider with serious and respect. We need actions, ideas that relieve poverty. You have to be serious.
