Pretty much all of my junior high years was watching MTV the moment I got home from school until dinner, then homework, then watching MTV until bed.

The great thing about 90s television, especially the MTV, are the visuals, no channel do it anymore, nowadays everything is clean and sophisticated, the TV lost a big part of its magic.

TV is more or less dead now. All the folks from the 70's and 80's that made 90's TV have a soul have been replaced by corporate NPC's. 😢 I am glad to have lived during the peak.

@@multiplesifl They still played plenty of videos then. Rude Awakening in the morning. Other various times of the day. Alternative Nation with Kennedy and then that show with Matt Pinfield later. And you got to see videos during Beavis and Butthead episodes. In my freshman dorm room I watched a TON of MTV. Because I didn’t have cable TV at home my entire childhood.

AHHH the mid-90’s nostalgia! I was just starting my freshman year of college then! Before I even started watching this I KNEW you’d have those Merry Go Round commercials! I remember those the most from that era. Wow this brings me back to one of the greatest years of my life.

I was 8 and we lived in East Oakland off MacArthur Blvd in the Laurel district. I didn't have any video games. We had just got cable with a whopping 16 extra channels on top of 9 VHF broadcast channels. My mom loved MTV. She was part of the first audience in '81. Basically late boomers.

Millennials think they invented Netflix and chill, but us Gen Xers were doing Blockbuster and Taco Bell long before. Also I wonder whatever happened to Special Effects Studio. My guess is they didn’t last long if they thought throwing an old tv off a bridge counted as a special effect
