It’s crazy bretman and princess are examples of what happens when you grow up with emotionally unavailable parents. You either become hyper independent and don’t allow yourself to show emotion to protect yourself or you become co dependent and need constant reassurance. At least they are going to therapy and taking steps to heal generational trauma.

Personally, i feel like what Princess tries to tell Bretman flies over his head quite a bit. Bretman does support and provide for the family through his work and efforts but I think what Princess is asking for is emotional support. She needs someone to believe in her and encourage her. Bretman cannot support her in that field because he needs to see results, but Princess can’t show results if she doesn’t have that foundation of support, this this cycle. Although, Bretman’s form of encouragement is telling her what to do, Princess’ form of encouragement is words of affirmation. It seems like a lot of things Princess talks about goes against what Bretman thinks towards himself, thus them constantly not seeing eye to eye, and it seems like there is a lot of miscommunication happening. I hope this gets resolved in a future episode, but this was my take on the matter.
@dumplings0018
@dumplings0018 2 жыл бұрын
I agree with this. It seemed that they have a different definition of support. I feel like it would clear some misunderstandings if Princess could show appreciation and acknowledge all Bret's efforts and support that he's been giving, because that's where Bretman felt uncredited for. Although like what you mentioned, it is emotional support that Princess is asking and that's a different issue. I think it's a bit challenging for them to actually meet halfway because of their dynamics and the way they communicate as well. Like how they don't usually say I love you to each other 'cause they weren't used to that growing up. Also like when Bret perceived her comment about his toe as dissing when, in my opinion, she's just kidding around. Tho it seems normal for them to diss each other as a joke, like whenever Bret would ask Princess why she built like that and stuff, we all know he's just trying to annoy her lmao, but even with those comments even Princess gets hurt. They diss each other for fun and ends up really getting annoyed with each other. There's definitely a lot of layers to unpack and work on.

@@dumplings0018 but in order to get that emotional support from Bretman, she also needs to understand that sometimes - girl, people have moments where all they want is to be alone and grow alone .. she needs to understand that and respect that area and use that moment to grow for herself as well. Ms Kay said it perfectly that they can still grow together despite being apart and that is what scares Princess. she feels like if they grow alone then they grow apart to which I can understand can stem from her parents being away from each other and growing apart

I’m already 20 now, so 5 years later and here we are now. I’m so happy for him and he just always been real and I just love that about him. It’s also soo crazy to see his sisters daughter grow up because I also remember the time when she was born and Bretman was just in love with her and it was just the cutest thing ever. Bretman is the definition of a hustler and got it all alone.

Bret is also probably feeling pressure of being a father figure for princess and now her kids. It was heartbreaking to hear Princess say "where else am I going to hear I love you from" back in episode 1 I cried along with her. She wants emotional support and Bretman is just emotionally drained from maintaining his own career/life. What Ms.K is said is actually deep "You have to water yourself. Sometimes others can't hold the weight of helping others to evolve why also trying to evolve themselves. This is where the self love and care comes in, and is why it's soooooo important. You have to take care of yourself in some chapters of your life so that you may help others eventually. This season shows how generous Bret is, and shows how loving Princess can be. I really like the theme of this season.

I think from Bretmans perspective he has done everything he has set out to do and continues to, for him he has worked hard and never forgotten his family. I don’t think he disregards his sisters role as a mother and sister but the fact that everything that she has wanted to do he has been there for and probably hasn’t seen her motivate herself as much as he wanted her to. At least he is honest when he says he isn’t proud of her, he’s not saying he isn’t proud of her as a mother but in fact the goals she has set for herself she hasn’t achieved.

He expects things from her and that speaks for itself. He is so kind to others as well but yet when it comes to princess he finds that he can’t bring up that same kindness he shows to others. He really should be able to be proud she just exists. But he can’t be because he c somehow thinks it’s alright to just expect more from her… as if he’s her parent.
@TheDeathframe
@TheDeathframe 2 жыл бұрын
He’s been there for her but why? It seems like he is saying he’s been there for her because he wants her to accomplish certain things etc but why isn’t he okay with just being there for her because he loves her or something like c that. It’s like live princess has to do something big or become something big in order to justify Brettman investing his time in her. But princess is it a project or a unfinished outcome, she’s princess and she’s just going through the motions of life just like anyone else. I find it really childish that Bretmen can’t see that. It seems he’s out of touch with the reality that just about a majority of us can find ourselves in the same shoes as princess: just trying to balance finding ourselves, realizing our goals, and balancing what’s before us in this thing called life. He lacks the patience for her but yet on the internet or how he holds himself for others and in front of others it is entirely different. You shouldn’t treat those you love like this and tbh it must hurt princess a ton

Someone u can depend on to tell u how it is straight up but also have that level of emotional understanding to keep them grounded. She's been the brightest star in their galaxy and u can see how much she cares for them both. I would love a friend like her because of her empathy and grounded demeanor. She's worked so hard for herself and I'm glad she's able to give the same advice she took for herself in becoming this beautiful butterfly. If anything, I'd be disappointed in upsetting her after all the trials and tribulations she's had to face and coming out of it with high hopes for herself and still think so much of others going through that as well. That explains a lot of relationships right now, whether it's marital or sibling, etc. We hold ourselves accountable for others, especially for the ones we love and that's why in Princess's case, she is dependent on Bret. I hope she learns to go out of her comfort zone and be her own person. Love Bret to the moon and back bc he is MY VIBE - always the one holding it down for the family and friends. Regardless of being harsh and critical at times, I see a very humble Bretman. Despite his successes, he remains very grateful for his blessings. He's never forgotten how Princess was instrumental to his successful career. He always acknowledges his sister's contribution even though he also worked hard for where he is now. I genuinely don’t understand the argument at the beach. Seems like Bretman over reacted majorly because I thought princess was just joking around like he does 24/7. He says don’t say anything at all if it’s not nice but he’s constantly saying things to her like “why are you built like that” Like I don’t get it. It’s almost like you just don’t know when he’s gonna take something sensitively or not and that’s probably hard to navigate for his sister

I can understand where Brett is coming from. Same situation, different circumstances. As someone who is the main bread winner of the family with an older sister who is co-dependant on me, the little sister, to guide her through life and be there to hold her hand all the time can be extremely exhausting and draining. With my sister, she has no drive, never looks at the bigger picture, doesn't learn from her mistakes, and is extremely selfish. I am NOT saying this is how Princess is, but I do understand what it's like to support someone who always gives up when the going gets rough.. even with unconditional support. My sister and I came from an abusive upbringing, but we absorbed those times differently. I was determined to never end up like them, my sister let those memories scar her permanently. I know that it's emotional support that she's looking for from Brett, but honestly, Princess needs to properly heal from her own emotional wounds, love herself more, and work on her confidence. Write all her dreams and ambitions down, create realistic goals around them, and work out a schedule for herself to achieve what she wants in her own time, no rush. I can see that she masks her pain. She needs real friends who will ground her and love her unconditionally. And Brett can't help but match her energy every time it's up because it's an issues that's gone on longer than they anticipated and he has no time. Keifer is a real one. A true gem. A beautiful soul, and that's the type of energy Brett wished Princess had and was. Free spirited, comfortable in her own skin, unafraid to speak her mind while being considerate of their feelings, down to earth and authentic. Brett and Keifer balance each other out really well, she humbles Brett and keeps him grounded. Princess needs her Keifer, and it isn't Brett.

Keifer is 100% right though, if you have been watching bretman for years you can visually see how hard he works as an influencer. when you’re so busy that you can barely make the amount of time you want for yourself especially when you still have inner healing to do, it becomes difficult to focus on healing friendships and relationships. And i think she has a hard time understanding that she is a little too codependent on him. & Its not that bretman does not love her, hes supported her in so many ways on camera and i can only imagine what hes done for her off camera. I know how important it must be to hear someone close to you actually say the words “i love you”, but bretmans actions are just louder than words. & although their relationship could use some work. the reality is, you can’t force everyone to love you the way you want to be loved. They are going to love you the best way they can and its up to you to accept it or not. I feel like this acceptance could really bring them together. To not set so many unrealistic expectations and just understand eachothers love languages. A lot of people struggle with this, i think thats why they won’t admit how princess is wrong in certain ways.

Omg, I never thought, behind Bretman being funny and entertaining, he has a lot of loads that he carries since he was a kid. I am happy he opened it up. It will make him unload a lot of baggage. Hope he will be better after his therapy.

This is one of the bad toxic traits when it comes to Filipino culture. You'll have a family member who is making it big, then the rest of the family all of a sudden have this entitled expectation for that person to give them hand-outs. Then out of the 99 times that person did for them, all they remember is that 1 time they weren't there to help out.

Seeing Keifer try and show Princess, Bretmans perspective was very nice to witness because having someone be able to mediate between 2 different people and their different mindsets is very refreshing. Also I loved Bretmans therapy session, it truly showed his vulnerability and it was beautiful seeing him figure out how to feel better about his trauma and ways to heal. I love this season soo much ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I felt Bret opening up about that whole thing about “oh ya we got a maid, dad and her are always kissing” Cause I remember being around 5/6 the same age and my dad asked me how my day went and I told him “we met some guy with a big truck that’s loud” I didn’t know what I was saying and ruining a marriage.. I ask my dad till this day “did you know or did I tell you” he always goes “I had a feeling but you just confirmed it! I’m more mad that your mom took you guys with her to do that”

Bret is busy and wants to focus on things on personal level and princess is so young and being a mother is tough ngl but sis break from your comfort zone. I hope she keeps her relationship private and no more kids. She isn’t up for it. Princess do the music, you’ll get better even with time. We want to see you grow , glow, get the bag.

I'm proud of you, Princess. For being and breathing. For trying to undo the version of love you saw and settled for by relearning it to set a good example for your kids to grow up to. All the mistakes you've made so far are only lessons, something that you'll learn to cherish forever in your heart as they bring you closer to your true form of what feels right and what feels wrong. Though I may not relate to your story as a mother of two, I'm proud of you for opening up and showing a true side of yourself that only yearns for the validation of the path your choices have driven you. I thank you deeply for staying strong, even without the loud cheers you wish to hear around you. As for your brother, he's extremely self-taught and driven to succeed in his life which will always, in turn, brings blessings to you and your family. You two have been caught in your own fires as children and I do think it is a true struggle for him to be the breadwinner of the family as the spotlight he was blessed with carries more weight than anyone else. Yet, I applaud him for being his own motivation and support, and I hope you look to him as guidance as its own proof, that you, Princess, can do the same too. Though he may not offer the love you wish you could get from him, and often get more remarks and insults by him more than anyone else. He was never taught better and neither were you, but it's a first step to teaching each other kindness even when it's not needed. The most loving moment is to say "thank you" to each other in a room full of silence. Sometimes when it comes to family, the hardest part is doing something you don't want to do but should try to do. Saying "I love you" is hard, but there's always a start. The easiest and most comforting start is with someone who has been standing next to you, receiving the same view as you, knowing that what you see is what they see too, and there's nothing more reassuring to know that a bond like that will always stay aligned when faced with a family that never knew better. I think these two love each other deeply. There's no way they don't despite the things they may say and do. But there comes a time where both weights should be invisible; should it be a second, a minute, and or a day. To see each other for who they are and not what you wish them to be, might be the answer to finding a true bond and love that no one else could ever share with another. All the best to you both, Bretman and Princess. I am in love with you two for sharing your story and I can't wait to see progress in the works. Stay beautiful and forever queens.

Bretman has provided her with everything plus more.. he basically the father of the children at this point. There’s a HUGE difference between a rich mother and a poor mother. I’m not saying it’s not hard anymore.. but she is definitely blessed because she had NO ONE when she was a teen mom except who.. BRET. So y’all need to calm down Bret has the RIGHT to feel this way.

I feel like Princess is beginning to be toxic. She needs to work with herself, especially her fears. She has a lot of ideas and wanted to do and she even started it but it was not successful because of her fears. She does not need Bretman to boost her confidence and validate her. She needs to accept what her life lies ahead and work for it alone.

I adore princess but she does tend to use motherhood as a crotch/excuse. And I get it, shes a mom of two kids at only 21 here (22 now) but realistically speaking she has the resources and two active dads that coparent with her. And if 2 or 3 ppl are telling u that the math ain't mathing, you need to look at what ur doing wrong. Bretman is right, I wouldn't be lying to her either when she hasn't accomplished much of anything. He's not saying she needs to prove herself to him, but more so that she needs to prove herself to herself and at that point he'll be genuinely proud of her. Princess is on stand still just saying "I can't do this", "I'm scared", "I don't wanna grow apart" but honestly doesn't seem to be putting the work besides voicing out HER wants just like her swimming lesson. She literally had a safety net to catch her in case she drowned (the lifeguard=bretman) and she just stopped.
