The use of low kicks can be very effective in both combat sports and self-defense situations. In this particular sparring session, I applied a lot of cut-kicks because my partner kept throwing body kicks. The concept is 'no-free' meaning you throw a counter each time your opponent kicks. And in this case, the cut-kicks came in handy.
