No, the bi-directional capabilities of the MUCAR DriveScan scan tool are limited to actuation tests. To update settings in modules or "code" modules you need a scan tool with "Special Function" support similar to the ThinkCar ThinkDiag scan tool. You can lookup what functions/features the ThinkDiag supports by using the online "vehicle coverage" inquiry page h5.thinkcar.com/coveragetk/all One thing to note, the MUCAR in app vehicle coverage lookup feature will show "Special Functions" available for the MUCAR device, but those are not present in the MUCAR scan tool/app. I reported that problem to Thinkcar, but it appears they have not fixed that problem in the vehicle coverage lookup feature.

To see if a particular vehicle's systems are supported by the MUCAR DriverScan scan tool, I suggest going to the MUCAR sales page and click on the "Coverage" link on the middle/right of the page. At purchase you get 1-year of included updates (free first year subscription) to the diagnostic and maintenance modules. OBD functionality is enabled with or without a subscription. If you want to continue to use the diagnostic or maintenance modules beyond the first year, you must pay for a subscription (one year at a time). The bi-directional features are part of the diagnostic/maintenance modules so you must have an active subscription for those to work.

We have one, it's worth the money . My solara doest let me use a lot of the mtnc. Features. I don't think k my car supports them.

Bought one and cant get past the activation screen, wants a verification code that I dont have, MORE CHINA JUNK!!!!!

The verification code is sent to the email address you entered in the activation screen when creating a new MUCAR user account. Make sure to check your junk mail folder in case the email is being treated as a junk email by your email service company. You can try clicking on the "Verification Code" link on that page to have the verification code sent to your email account. It worked for me without any problem.
