When it comes to your wedding keep in mind it is your wedding. When I tried to make everyone happy it took me years to realize I just couldn't. Finally washed my hands of it and let others take the wheel. Then Cov*d hit and my husband asked, "What do you really want? What are your needs for this?" We did a simple thing in our driveway and loved it. Overthinking is the devil.

I just somehow stumbled upon your video by KZbin suggestion and so far have watched 4 in a row, and just want to thank you. I truly believe things sometimes things arent coincidental and can come across your path when you need them most. I struggle with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, extreme lack of interest, motivation etc b/c of these issues and just can't wait to watch more. I just however wanted to thank you because you already made so many good suggestions to me that I found helpful, downloaded your app etc, that I felt compelled to leave this comment. So TY! :) Enjoy your day! xo Lindsey

This is exactly what I needed, what perfect timing! Also, I relate to one of these heavily, LOL... I was beating myself up yesterday over never vacuuming, and then spending an hour trying to push myself to vacuum, and then when I did it took forever... and then suddenly I was like - hang on, my vacuum has been "almost broken, barely working" for 3 years now, I keep needing to repair it while I'm using it. It's no wonder I never vacuum, LOL. I didn't even consider the REAL problem.

I feel it when you say that resistance arises because of a lack of control. Before starting a task I feel like it's going to be boring and long and that I will just suffer for hours and not do a great job. For some reason I really feel like the burst method could help me. Because that way I feel much more control over what I do - I can work on several things I want to get done, without having this bad feeling that I will be "stuck for hours with a task I hate" and taht I will have to "forget about all the other tasks I want to do but that are not as urgent". Thank you so much for all your research Michelle, I absolutely love your videos. I've took my sweet time to take notes and that one, and I will display my notes in front of my office I think each of these tips is genius, I can't wait to try them!

Ah idea 4 I’ve thought about a lot- I try to only listen to KZbin videos/ podcasts while doing tasks when I’m really resisting doing something. If I can get started or do a little of something w/out… entertainment assistance then I will, bc that means I can use that trick later. “Tricking” myself into getting things done that way gets so much less effective if I do it all the time!

To get myself to get tasks done I listen to favorite artists and their song. I love John Mellencamp Ain't even done with the Night. John Fogerty Old Man Down the Road high beat songs. The tasks I get done. Focusing on the song instead of how I might not like the task. The music turns it into fun. Every night I make a to do list. The music is how I get tasks at home done. Thank you for this video. Really good info. Love love love this video of yours.

Am I a pathetic loser? I'm 27, still live at home, having never moved out. I have never had a girlfriend or a date, and I don't even have a driver's license. I have both a learning disability and ASD, and sometimes I say unfiltered things or act weird in social moments. I assume my ASD makes me "less normal." I don't have too many friends now that I've graduated from college and most of my friends have left town. My coworkers all seem to fit in; I usually stand out. I often feel like a misfit at work. They don't seem to want to include me in on the fun. I guess I can be weird and annoying socially. I wonder if they're better off without me. What's funny is they say you should always be yourself, but that's a fallacy, isn't it? I graduated high school at TWENTY, having been kept back in preschool (speech delay) and homeschooled. I even graduated at a small charter school instead of the superior public high school my younger sister is at. I'm jealous of her; she's stronger than I would've been...and about to be a senior when I was a sophomore her age. I seem slow and helpless and do better with a guide than by myself (my boss basically said that to my face).A disabled man who doesn't match standards, yes, but a failure too?
@marianocerronemusic Жыл бұрын
No you're not a failure

That’s all i get for a comforting pep talk?
@marianocerronemusic Жыл бұрын
@@johnrainsman6650 I didn't mean to minimize your pain, I was just answering your question about being a failure or not. My intention was to answer with a clear and strong statement. You're just being rude with a stranger on KZbin, just so you know. You're asking for more while you don't even know my intentions and who I am
@johnrainsman6650 Жыл бұрын
@@marianocerronemusicI'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Like I said, I have ASD. We're not always good with tact. It often makes us seem like jerks
@marianocerronemusic Жыл бұрын
@@johnrainsman6650 @johnrainsman6650 okay don't worry, just don't give up. There are many people that are stuck at this age so it's more common than you think. Patience is the key. We can have a successful life even later in life, we don't need to fit in the standards of the society. There are things that are difficult to achieve but it doesn't mean that are impossible. Making changes in our life can be helpful. Especially changing some habits if it's possible and introducing new hobbies into your life that make you feel more fulfilled. For me music is very helpful and it's a hobby that I can do alone since I don't like social interactions that much. It can be therapeutic in some ways. I am sure that you're good at something but you didn't find it yet. Is there anything you're passionated about? Maybe it can help. The fact that you graduated late doesn't mean anything. Never feel discouraged just because other people graduated earlier or they have a better job. Everyone has their own struggles. Good for them if they are lucky or they can achieve their dreams. But we are not them, we are ourselves and we need to focus on ourselves to survive and finally live our life for real!
