I’ve been implementing a motto in my life recently : what can be done under two minutes, do it immediately. It’s been working wonders nd my boyfriend also adopted the idea and it’s super freeing. No need to put the thing on a to do, we just do it when it comes up. ✨

But does a plunger work on these push plug ones when it's clogged because it's has hair tangled in it? We have to get tweezers to pull it all out. We are pulling the s bend apart every 6 months because it's full of my hair tangled on the plug part
@xoxogossipgoat214 жыл бұрын
@@ilovejulie89 if you unscrew that plug (screws right off the piston) then - plunger should work, I’m pretty vigilant with hair etc falling down so I don’t have too many issues. If all else fails I would highly recommend switching to a pop *down* plug and waste because those ones are made so that the internal part just slides right out the middle so you can clean it really easily. The brand is bounty brassware - Reece sell them!
@ilovejulie894 жыл бұрын

I know it's a little schadenfreude, but it's kind of encouraging to watch someone who is so good at the social aspects of adulting, time management, and self care, be absolute rubbish at home maintenance. Also I highly recommend a drain snake for your future pipe cleaning projects
@clintpatty4 жыл бұрын
As a first resort for this type of drain issue, I use taking apart the drain and a drain snake. In my experience, good luck with baking soda and vinegar if it drains that slowly. All these people commenting about baking powder--the friend who I visited that the drain snake had not been working for asked my opinion. I said, if it's not working at this point, that's not really the issue, in my experience. The friend called a plumber who spent about 3 hours with a powdered drain auger/snake that can drill a hole in the pipe. Friend got a discount on a new drain pipe due to the hole the plumber made. Honestly the drain snake is *messy* and very much so, not that it looks like news to you, but it's better and faster overall for these types of things. I'm also interested in what problem or SSD/Fusion Drive you had on that Retina iMac.
@paperEATER1014 жыл бұрын
For unclogging a sink, get a small plunger, maybe $10. You have to plug up the overflow hole (a wet rag will do), otherwise the pressure you're creating will just be released via the hole. Not a guaranteed solution but really easy (requires zero disassembly) and very often successful; usually the first thing you try. If the stopper is easy to remove, remove it. There might be a big mess of hair and soap hanging out there.
@katieskeps77504 жыл бұрын
Great vlog! I think usually you should be able to just unscrew the silver plug on the sink ☺️ I do it on a friends sink as hair is always clogging their sink, and it drives me bonkers haha.

Next time get a tool called a "snake" for your sink! It's a barbed plastic rod you stick down your sink to pull up any hair or gunk. So much easier than unscrewing your pipe. Perfect for all drains like your bathtub, kitchen sink, and bathroom sink.
