"3-2-1...go!" 🙈 All that muddy horror had been way too tough for me, but Liz does it with a smile 💪👏 And nobody needs to believe how hard it was, cause it is clearly visible !!!

I very much enjoy your videos ! My son and I are pretty new to adventure motorcycle life and it feels like you guys are relatable. I don't at all mean any offense or judgment on your riding ability. You both keep getting up and keep going and I think that's the best part . Thank you for sharing your time

Riding in mud and sand is a typical catch 22 situation. Both are best ridden with a constant, moderate pace, but to get your mind to agree with that and do it, is so much harder when you don’t have the confidence required, which makes learning to ride through mud and sand so much harder than it needs to be. Great effort, keep it up and thanks for the video.

I feel your pain liss. I ride enduro with some blokes who've been riding a long time. I am 10 years older , and I've only been riding a very short time. I really really struggle on these rides, but to the it credit, these boys wait for me, and drag me thru. It really is character building.

If you dont mind me being "one of those people"... get plank, not more than 150mm wide, and ride over it slowly sitting down, then slowly standing up and then faster standing up. Work out which is easiest. Riding ruts and narrow ridges is 100% a confidence thing. I can see Liss has more than enough ability, but starts thinking it looks hard. I'd really like to see you practice a plank ;) And remember, you only slip downhill. Cheers, from your friendly observer.

I know that ground well, grew up there, know that bike, got one. When that clay gets wet we stay home, it's just trouble. But you got down and dirty. Bouquets to u. Stay Upright. Best wishes.

You could be vapor locking. If the fuel line is to close to the cylinder head and it’s heating up when you’re struggling, the fuel could be creating bubbles in the line which makes it seem to run out of fuel. Had a Kawasaki that use to do that on really hot days or when I was whipping the hamsters.

Momentum and the confidence of standing up shifting body weight on thoes trails is a good skill to learn but good bloody job well done 😀. My fuel line is routed the same way too, I belive you can turn the inlet on the carb but I get worried I will snap it off lol.

That’s why I use a clear colored fuel line and glass in line fuel filter on my 79 cm 400
@carlbernsen12904 жыл бұрын
Fuel problem could be a bit of crap in the carb, blocking the idle jet. Once had sticky mud so thick under the front (low) mudguard that it jammed the wheel solid. Didn’t have the right tool to remove it so I had to stop and clear it with a stick every 20 yards. Fun fun fun.

Great adventures again, Liss try standing on pegs and lean back a little when riding mud and a little more throttle, may help out. Also if need to do u-turn on trail you can put side stand down lean bike over on stand lifting wheels and spin it around in bikes own length.

Although the DR I'm sure is a wonderful machine, wouldn't Liz be better off on a 200-250 and some proper off-road training from an expert? With minimal experience I'd even consider an older 125-200 4 stroke until the confidence builds. I realize it won't work too well for motorways but... Lighter weight would make it easier< ergo, more fun.
@RidingOnEggshells4 жыл бұрын
Liss: We don't have a garage, or a car, so we can only have one bike that needs to distance travel at highway, pack heavy enough for extended touring, and is capable off road. DR650 is a solid allrounder
