I bought this album when I was an ignorant 11 yr old in 75 and didn't realise that this song was a cover from the 50's. I didn't half give Showaddywaddy some stick for making a hit from a Mud song! 😃

Was never issued in the UK in the late 50s and sold poorly in the USA at the time by curtis lee, showaddywaddy covered his big hit " pretty little angel eyes as well" I'm sure the guys from showaddywaddy bought the mud album and decided to cover it

Ha ha they did a good version prefer the kettle drums on showaddywaddy 's version but the girl backing singers on this are great.

I didn't know Mud recorded this 😐Also I just heard a slightly different version, which is on a 70's compilation, it's attributed to Showaddywaddy but doesn't have the timpani drums and sounds a bit odd, sounds more like this version but slightly different again 🤔

Don't now sure, but read somewhere that Mud didn't want this song release as a single, so C&C give this song later to Showaddywaddy....??

The way I heard it they wanted it as a single, but lable didn't , then it went to number one with showaddy waddy. They were on private stock at the time not rak records so chinn and chap had no influence
