A recent university study found that bass cannot tell the difference between white and chartreuse and the only colors they see are red, blue, green. They can’t tell the difference between black and blue. This really makes a lot of sense out of my 35 years of fishing and has seriously cut down on how many different soft plastics and baits I buy and no more JJ’s Magic etc!

Yeah that stained, muddy water is real tough sometimes. Especially when fishing from land. Cause unless you have the best spot with structure and coverage its gonna be tough fishin open waters. But those bright colors work. Great video thanks!

I generally hear darker color for muddier/less visibility water . So that way they see the silhouette instead of the color because obviously they can’t see . What is y’alls opinions on this? Very very mixed opinions.
@zachcarroll81805 жыл бұрын
Dark colors for dirty water. I dont care what anyone says. It just works.
@MysteryTackleBox5 жыл бұрын
The dirtier the water, the darker the color you want to throw. You're spot on
@salaciouscrumb94435 жыл бұрын
Not always the case. I tried dark colors on sunny days in clear water and muddy. And actually had better luck using light colors, like sexy shad and chartreuse. In muddy waters a chatterbait is good but I've had better luck with a spinnerbait. At the end of the day they are just opinions, not guarantees.

He's talking about & throwing light colors in stained water, on a bright sunny day, into spots with zero shade. Catches zero fish. Right after he says use light colors he mentions using black & blues in the same breath. (Way to cover all your bases.) I have found that light colors disappear in dark water. Stick with black & blues as it creates a more visible silhouette. I've found that chatterbaits work well also due to the blade creating vibration in the water that triggers the lateral line sensory system in the fish since they can't rely on their vision to find food.
