Regarding the mystery object, years ago I had a small cupboard with a handle of a similar shape. The smaller hoop was attached to a metal plate on the door. So it hung down and you lifted it to pull.

You should consider casting your pudding dolls in Original Sculpey (polymer clay). It gives the perfect bisque finish and you can pop an eyepin in the top of the head. This way I could afford to buy one, as opposed to silver!

Loved it as usual and I think the little metal loop could have been a blind pull. Lovely little cotton reel ink and such a lovely colour. If you collect the pieces of colored glass, they can be polished/grind down to shapes and pre drilled and jewellery made from them. Using leather bands/ with these colors would look splendid. Good luck with it.

Two ideas for your mystery object. Either a drawer pull which would be attached at the top to a metal plate to form a hinge, or possibly a decorative pull for a light or (earlier) for a bell? It's very pretty. I love your marmalade pots and I'd hate to see you leave a complete one behind to be broken up so please keep collecting them. Someone recently donated a load of excess dump bottles to my local charity shop which I thought was a nice idea- money for the charity, and you get to save items which you might otherwise leave behind as duplicates 😀

Gail, you wondered what to do with the curved piece of china. I saw it and thought of the shadow shields in front of some candle lamps. The solid piece has one picture and holes cut through it cast a different picture when the candle is lighted. The curve shields the light and limits where the light reaches.

I have a clay marble that was my mothers, about 100 yrs old now. She said they used to color the marbles with crayons or paint. 12:19- the pull loop was likely attached to an early lamp pull chain. I have seen bell shaped ones on ceiling mounted lamps here in the U.S. dating back to the early 1900's. I would guess it was from a pretty well off house.

I think the loop thing is a lamp pull. It would have been on the end of a small chain. Pull-chain lamps came out around 1896.

Really interesting history stories you told us this week. The re uniting of the hand cream bottle and post card was a touching tribute to a family, who's name lives on again in lots of your followers heads. The looped metal mystery object, with the hole in the end, I'm sure is a pull for a vanity draw. I think I have similar on mine, though the metal is different. Two small draws on my dressing table. I believe its Victorian. I could be wrong though, so don't be quoting me. I'm no expert. 😂 x

Could the mystery piece be part of a decorative handle from a chest of drawers? It would dangle from the actual handle. Just a guess as I have an antique chest with these just slightly bigger. I always enjoy your videos. Especially the history behind many of the items you find.

I love the pudding doll!!! I have collected miniatures since i was 5 years old and im 61 now. Thats one of the cutest things i have ever seen (and i have seen alot and own alot too). I dont have any mudlarking finds or many from the UK at all. Great finds today. Also in the US there is a town and a legend called Sleepy Hollow. The story is called "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" about a headless horseman that appears every Halloween night. I'm sure you can read about it online. When you picked up the headless horseman it was the first thing I thought of.
