Muffler Delete 3.8 Buick Lesabre Factory Style Tailpipe

I wanted to get some sound and power from my Buick. Deleting the resonator wouldn't change much, so I decided to remove the factory muffler. The rest of the exhaust remains stock, including the catalytic convertor. I choose to make the tailpipe look like the factory exit, because I didn't want a chrome tip on this particular car. Work was done at Peterson's Service Center in Egg Harbor City,N.J. / petersonseggharborcity

I learned a couple of tricks there; thanks. (Using the adjustable wrench to flare the pipe, and hang the prong in the hanger to weld it to the pipe.) Those LeSabres are worth keeping going.

I have a 2013 Buick lacrosse 3.6l v6, and I’m planning on doing a muffler and resonator delete on it. It already sounds really good, I just can’t wait to get that deep rumble.

Tempted to do this to mine. The 3.8 sounds nice on the acceleration but the idle is so quiet. A V6 should be more vocal.

I ended up putting a resonator where the muffler was, the drone was too loud while driving. So now instead of a resonator and muffler, it has 2 resonators.

@@TomPetersonRefuseReuse did you put a glasspaxks where the resonator was or just replace it with straight pipe. I'm guessing a glasspaxks could go where the resonator was and 1 where the muffler was. Just curious. Thanks

@@TomPetersonRefuseReuse i have a 2002 park ave. i believe what you cut off was the resonator. i know it looks like a muffler, but its not..the muffler is just behind the converter, iirc. cut that off and leave the resonator, and it will have a much different sound.
@TomPetersonRefuseReuse
@TomPetersonRefuseReuse 2 жыл бұрын
No, the rear part is the muffler. The long straight through part up front is the resonator. I'm not just saying this, I know from experience, that if you remove just the resonator, there won't be that much difference. I know, because I work on exhaust systems every day, and sometimes people come in with a leaky resonator, but don't have money for a new one, so we put a straight pipe in to fix the leak. I would never remove the rear muffler however for a "regular" person, as it would be too loud.

@@TomPetersonRefuseReuse I was going to ask about the resonator too. Did you put a 12" glasspaxks where the muffler was. Glasspaxks still sound good want this setup on my 05 Impala but with dual tips and 2 glasspaxks instead of mufflers and a highflow zzp cat with a u bend delete and a air intake. Should give it a better deeper sound. What do you think. Buick sounds good too 💪🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Bruce Chastain New Jersey has tough emissions laws, but the muffler doesn't change the emissions, the factory catalytic converter is still in place. Also the car is not that loud. I do custom exhaust all the time, but only behind the converter. Thanks for watching!

did this to my 04 pontiac grand prix with dual mufflers. i put on a straight through up swept four pipe system. i really looked boss and was loud. it did give a boost in power with the straight in induction system. but after six years i went back to a single muffler...i just couldn't take the noise any more. my neighbours were happy too. i might get an electric cut out on my new ride. 👹

I delete a ton of resonators but not for performance reasons. People come in with them rusted out and I give them the option of replacing it or deleting it. 99% of people choose the delete because it's cheaper and doesn't make it much louder.

FYI, unless your car has a turbo, taking off the muffler and zeroing out the back pressure is only going to cause you to lose power and torque. Ideally, you want a high flow muffler and no cats or at least high flow cats. That will help to maximize your power.
