Exactly. Bob's speech patterns and the extremely refined accent were so central to his persona. Unfortunately the actor here failed dismally to pull it off, which is quite sad.

Great Story, I am happy about this but I have a problem with the casting, are you serious guys, The dude playing Mugabe's role mmmmm he has a Nigerian accent and it's very easy to notice, try and put a Zimbabwean actor there, it will be easier for him to easily pull off the way Mugabe sounded when he talked and the gestures he made. I respect The man playing Mugabe's role he is a good actor, but this one role is a bit tricky, He has to be near perfect to pull it off. As for the part yaGrace Mugabe you killed it, the woman playing that one is extremely good she nailed it

Get a Zimbabwean to play the Mugabe part, Maybe Anold Chirisa. But the Grace woman is ok. Cause believe you me. There is going to be an avalanche of Mugabe movies and for your to stand out it must potray the close to reality perspective. take a cue from the Mandela Movies.

Acting involves a lot more than accent. this guy has the highest acting credits in IMBd, also one of the top African-Hollywood actors Africa, a way more experienced than young rising actors . Besides, Mugabe was a big Pan Africanist who denounced colonial African divisions. This explains why Zimbabweans dont have many xenophobic outbreaks. Our then president taught us that Africans are one and so happy with their choice. Anyway you can still do another with a different lead..

The casting was POOOOR. I am happy someone wrote a story about Mugabe however the casting was very very poor for Mugabe role. For starters, Mugabe didn't have a Nigerian accent. His English was impeccable. The actor only needed to watch a single speech from Mugabe to know he didn't need to alter his personal accent much.

You are right, the way the actor spoke in this role was totally offline. There is a guy who imitates Mugabe very well they should have used him. But we appreciate the effort for casting this, we understand it’s a low budget movie and only a few are professional actors.

An inaccurate chronology our history. Mugabe was not the hero of the liberation struggle. We need to see more of Nkomo, Sithole, Chitepo and Takawira before independence. Do not not endeavor to potray a "Mandela" on Mugabe. Do your research well before misinforming the whole world about our history. And for God's sake get that Mugabe accent right.

You cannot expect everything in 2 hours .. you are right. There will be many Mugabe movies.. they will cover the things but not everything as well.As for accent... that's not an issue... Hakeem is an African brother. FYI Mugabe was a big pan africanist. Hakeens language is very clear. There are other bigger attributes of acting and the accent is a small friction of it all. After all... the guy is more experienced than chiris... through research. Anyway.. lets wait and see before being so negative
