After all the hype and excitement, the Mugler x H&M collab launched on 11th May and I decided to get up nice and early to line up outside the H&M in Times Square and shop the collab in person. I'm going through the whole experience of shopping in-person, as well as the quality of the items in the collection and the pieces I ended up with...ENJOY!

I overslept that day and had given up on this collection. I went to the store in the late evening anyways, but for a different thing, and by the changing rooms I found one single black mesh dress. Literally the only piece I wanted and there it was, for some weird reason missed by everyone as it was the last Mugler item. It got even weirder when I lined up to pay. Other customers would approach me like piranhas asking where I found it and if I really wanted to buy it. lol Needless to say I bought the dress and it fits so beautifully.

In Japan they also used the wristband system. I went to the store after work (6pm) and basically there was nothing left except for the logo/sheer tshirts and some accs. However someone came to return the padded blazer (I was eying) that happened to be my size so I snatched it right away😂

I’m going to sound like a hater but it’s true. These pieces are going to have the life expectancy of 3 wash cycles and then they’ll rip. That’s just me being generous because from my experience. All of hm clothes feel like they last 15 minutes. I think it’s best and important to buy quality. Even if it’s slightly expensive.

@@TheWutangclan1995 Completely agree on the quality, but at same time there are lots of people who struggle with money, so maybe these are the people who are happy because they can buy something trendy while not spending an enormous amount of money. I prefer to buy better quality as well, also because maybe the workers aren’t abused like in some big companies, but I am on the lucky side, cause most of the times I can choose, which isn’t everybody’s case.

Oh no!!! I’m afraid of that. I passed on the dress with the detachable glove bc it looked so short. I got the neck one with longer sleeves, so hopefully that’s a tad bit longer.

@@Sunshine4 haha no they are all short, but definitely not as short as the black skirt, so depends on your level of comfort with this. However you made the right choice by passing up the glove dress, it was on my list, I tried it in the store and it was a mess, didn't look good at all, also looked a bit cheap, but I liked how it looked online. Yes it was short, but I'm ok with that length, it wasn't the problem, the whole construction and the zipper was.

I logged on about 4 minutes late and all the big ticket items were sold out. But, I suspect there were limited quantities. The only item I wanted to try and get was the men’s star print gauze t-shirt. I got it with no problem. It was very smooth. I’m shocked to see people saying they had a bad experience because even now, the entire collection is not sold out.

By now I guess they fucked up the logistics. from what I could gather, each country ( or other categories, but definitely smaller units than usual ) had it's own stock, rather than say western europe, or soust east asia as is usual. actually not a bad idea! where they seemed to fuck up though was, each contingent was the same size, so you have cases where germany completely sold out, and in contrast the uk where popular stuff is sold out but defintely not everything. germany also having a pretty big gay scene which hyped up the collab to no end, mainstream costumers not so much, so maybe there should have been more stock. BUT I'm just guessing, it would fit the availble info though

I was pleasantly surprised by the process in order to make everything civilized! Limiting the amount of pieces to buy is also great. We had the same experience here in Germany, but the queue wasn't as bad as the US ones 😅 However, I think at least half of the queue didn't get anything, cause everything was selling out so quickly and the selection in-store was not that great tbh. Let's not talk about the online launch, cause the website was down for 15mins and only the app worked haha Quality: Agree, the bodysuits aren't that great. Attending the pre-show event, half of the bodysuits the dancers were wearing were literally falling apart after one number. I got the corset hoodie, but had to size down by two sizes, in order to get the waisted corset look of Mugler, otherwise it would have been too "casual". I've seen lots of people with size issues for that specific piece.

So I bought the corset blazer online precisely at 9:02 am when the website loaded. I bought it through the rakuten shopping app (15% cash back) plus used a 15% off coupon code for a total with tax of $293 plus I will get $45ish back from rakuten. Can’t wait to see in person! Great video as always! I expected the quality wouldn't be the same even though the designs are so similar. Also, I love the bit you mentioned at the end about the collab giving the designers a chance to test things out and also put the green coat into production because they didn't get enough orders for the mainline. They were really interesting points that I'd never considered!

I shopped online in Australia and was surprised at how smooth it went. I was at my laptop when they launched and I managed to get all three items that I was after - the sparkly top being one of them! I can’t wait to see in real life, it looks fab on you x

I tried to order from China H&M because the prices are MUCH cheaper, but everything was sold out in seconds after the online launch so obviously it was popular in China. But I heard that it was easy to shop in Korea and Japan because it was not really their style. But I did order the denim jacket online, still waiting for the shipment but I am excited because it looks just like the jacket from main line!

I panicked and bought a bodysuit in the wrong colour! I did get a dress which I’m excited to try. The UK app was an utter SHAMBLES. Couldn’t get onto the website until 10 past 9 so I was lucky to get what I did!

The price differences are crazy. On the Australian website the corset jacket is $349aud. That would convert to about $230 us! I do really like it though!

I was more into the accessories because I wasn’t sure of the fitting of the clothes by shopping online. I wanted the brooch (but it sold out) and the star earrings. Thank you for fighting the crowds to review this for us! The online launched sometime in the afternoon for us in my country, and I was at work, so when I had a break to check on it again, most of the items were sold out in the common sizes. Based on your review though, I think I should just suck it up and buy regular mugler anyway 😅

I had a few items I was planning to buy. Logged in and ready to go at launch time. Once the page loaded, I couldn't add most of what I wanted to my cart. I kept getting two errors until I finally got the black/blue spiral jeans and the teardrop necklace, but by the time I hit checkout the items were apparently out of stock. I got the corseted hoodie, and the Denim jacket online. It was a mess online. Things would show as sold, out, and 20 minutes later they would show limited stock available. I basically stocked the items I wanted all morning until it was truly sold out

Re quality - the jeans are actually made in Italy! 👌 black fabric is thick and stiching is good. I couldnt fit into them into store with all time constraints it gave me a bit of anxiety so I decided just to go for them, try at home etc its takes some effort to get into those pants but OMG once you are in your 🍑 looks just fabulous!! That was on my bucket list and I’m happy I got them :)

I shopped the Toronto location in Canada. Got to the store a 8am when it opened and they already had stopped giving out wristbands at that point. The jeans and corset pieces were gone before 9am. I did manage to get the men's velour star shirt which actually looks bomb tucked in a leather mini skirt and I managed to snag one of the women's black mesh cutout bodycon dresses. Unfortunately the online experience was not as successful. I saw other people in line being let into the site before me so all the key pieces / online exclusives were gone before the site let me in 7 minutes later...

Despite being ready and waiting on the website just as it kicked off, I was a bit too slow at checkout so missed out on the corset which I wanted. I lost out on the jerry hall dress too so I got the long sleeved black with cut out across the neck. It was 3rd on my want list.

CassCass! U didnt know luxury costs more here in the States? Yes mam! We pay more for it here in America than anywhere else in the world. I am spending Christmas in Japan. I'm taking an empty piece of luggage with me for shopping because luxury is cheapest in Japan than anywhere else. So hopefully, I can get a few things I been wanting at awesome prices. I never would’ve known or cared about this Collab if it had not been for you. So thank you for expanding my fashion horizons. I was interested in two items from this collection - the jeans and the bodysuit and somehow was able to get both online. I feel so lucky! I had my laptop open to the website and the app open on my phone ready at launch time. I was checked out on the app before the website even updated. So glad it did because obviously everything sold out in minutes. I did have to order the jeans a size up, so pray for me that things fit!
