Having said that, in the extremely unlikely event that Ali lost to Cooper in 1963, it would have made little difference in the long run. The chances of Cooper then challenging Liston for the world title are very remote because his manager said that he wouldn't let Cooper anywhere near Liston. That's just as well because Liston would have obliterated Cooper. As far as Ali is concerned, losing to Cooper would have been a setback that probably would have prevented him from challenging for the world title until 1965 at the latest. He then would have fought Liston and beaten him and everything after that would be pretty much the same as things actually turned out.

You dont get the US humor. We have a lot of clever wit and fast word play too. Brit humor is easy to understand. It is some man in a dress, most of the time, and not very funny. Monty Python was funny often. The other brits, not so much. Croc Dundee was funny. The Beatles were great at comedy. You just have not seen good US comedy. In the first fight Ali did not know how to handle cooper and had to be behind on points when coopers eye started bleeding . Even after coopers eye started bleeding cooper still landed a blow that almost knocked Ali out. He was only saved by the bell at the end of the round. Ali toughed it out but if coopers eye had not opened up cooper prob wins the first fight .
