The only problem is goku has proving that stamina is not a big problem anymore for his ultra instinct form, meanwhile beast gohan looks pretty exhausted after land a hit on goku. And the last attack, gohan needs to charge his ki for quite a while before he was attacking goku, that's a major problem as well.

Whereas Goku and Vegeta work harder, Gohan's the type to work smarter. He seems to have the raw talent and cunning to achieve more in less amount of training. Interestingly his potential to lose himself in rage reflects Broly too. If I'm not mistaken that's why Goku wanted to fight Gohan that chapter, as an exhibition to Broly as to what he can do if he remains in control.

In terms of physical stats, Gohan is superior. In terms of hax and experience, Goku is better. However, you can just tell Gohan is the overall more powerful fighter. Not only are his punches more effective than Goku's own, Gohan is also able to completely bypass MUI's evasion hax while powered up. Its pretty consistent throughout the series that the one who has the better power, speed, and durability in a fight are usually the superior fighter.

The only thing that indicates that is Goku saying he wasn't trying, which is obviously since they were just sparring, but it's also obvious that Goku's MUI pretty blatantly carried him through the fight. Again, Gohan's punches were more effective than Goku's punches. Also, keep in mind that Vegeta himself said that Goku's MUI and his experience was closing the gap between them implying that Gohan was already the stronger of the two from the very start.

I think Dragonball's biggest power leveling issue, is that there can't be power tiers between main villains and heroes. These characters can be interesting without being on the same scale as Goku & Vegeta. I'd argue that's what makes people like the TOP. Characters came back and fought on their own level. Even with the terrible power jumps Tien, Krillen and Roshi never became as strong as a Ssg, but still had interesting flights. Cell Max could have just been stronger than Gohan without being stronger than ultra instinct.

I understand that its been set up since beginning of Z for Gohan to have the most potential but it does none of the characters any favors to have Gohan do minimal training with Piccolo, get mad and suddenly even remotely rival MUI or even Destruction Vegeta. Both Goku and Vegeta are now years deep in training with one of the most powerful angels and gods of destruction and battles against people like Jiren , Broly moro and granola rivaling/exceeding the power of gods. Its a cartoon, looking for logic is silly of course but its still something that bugs me a bit. Why does everyone think UI is a hax? It's only hax when Goku is far stronger than the opponent, but when he's against someone of the same level or stronger, it doesn't really do that much, it's just another power up form. It's clear that Beast Gohan wins. For just a brief moment of charging and letting his rage go he blitzed MUI and knocked him out of the form. All the hits Gohan landed on Goku hurt him noticeably. Whereas none of Goku's hits on Gohan looked like they hurt him at all, he had no pained look on his face. If Gohan for one brief instant of rage boost can overwhelm goku that badly, then it's clear that if Gohan didn't restrain himself, Goku could've ended up dead if Gohan followed up after knocking him out to base form. Goku could have lost his life in that spar if Gohan wasn't holding back, whereas Gohan was never in any danger.

honestly, I don’t think Gohan has ever shown the grit to beat Goku. Gohan has never beaten an opponent on his lvl without outside interference. Which is typically is him seeing someone he loves hurt. The only time you could say he kinda did, is when he had a draw with Kefla. Gohan needs to be pushed to surpass opponents on his level typically, and the will doesn’t come on its own. Goku on the other hand, can push himself past his limits and surpass opponents when they’re on his level and beyond. Gohan on his own is soft, as in he rarely has the ability to push himself hard enough to beat strong opponents. Even in the Hero movie Piccolo had to pretend to hurt Pan to get him to beat Gamma 1. If that didn’t happen, as far as we can tell he would have lost. Gohan is over confident when he’s stronger than his opponents, which causes him to lose consistently. And he doesn’t have the the experience or grit to beat opponents that are on his lvl consistently. Gohan may be physically stronger than Goku, but I can almost guarantee he’d lose to him 10 times outta 10.

I don't think Gohan is winning against Goku. While Gohan is technically stronger. Just barely. He's winded as soon as he landed those 2 hits on Goku. That probably drains a lot of his stamina. He literally had to get angry and power up to his fullest in order to trump Goku. Where as Goku is just being Goku. Gohan wins because the author wants him to win. To be honest, his power-up is the most nonsensical and laziest. Goku needs to engage in several hard battles and training to get MUI, Vegeta is the same. Their forms also have conditions and drawbacks while reflecting their personality and their way of living. As for Gohan, nothing comes to mind about why he has that rage power and Beast mode. If we want to talk about rage, Broly should be the man since he is the legendary Saiyan with the suppressed ancient Ape instinct.
