Fun fact! Women among the Huns had higher status than their Chinese counterparts and even some of their own men. Women were free to hunt and fight along side of the men, could choose their own husbands and divorce him if she choose to. There were even records of clans being led by women leaders. So, for Shan Yu, Mulan is just another soldier

I've seen a theory a while ago, that the reason the great stone dragon didn't wake up, was because it had transferred itself into Mulan, giving her the strenght and bravery to take her father's place in the war. The things the theory pointed out was that she made the desicion at the statue, while the statue was watching her. And the lightning strikes that happen each time they show the family symbol (which is the dragon). So essentially, the dragon didn't wake up, because it was no longer there.

Honestly, as much as I love how sassy Mulan's grandma is, my favorite part of the movie is Yao roasting Chi-Fu in the song "A Girl Worth Fighting For". Chi-Fu: 🎶I've a girl back home who's unlike any other🎶 Yao: 🎶 Yeah, the only girl who'd love him is his mother🎶 Just the look on his face ALONE is priceless. 😅😂🤣

My favourite detail about this film is that after the group discover the burned down village, there are no more songs. It completely changes tone once they truly realise the seriousness of the situation and find the girl worth fighting for (the child). Also I'll make a man out of you is an amazing karaoke song. Mulan's dad is one of the top 3 dads in Disney

Man Mulan was one of the 4 Disney ‘princess’ I looked up to as a kid Meg from Hercules, Tiana from Princess and the frog and Esmeralda from the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I just loved how strong and determined they are and took no bs from anyone

Since no one has corrected you on some stuff I'll just do it. About the 'little brother' thing, it's normal in Asian culture to not call your siblings by their name. I've never once called my younger sister by her name, and instead by the Chinese word for younger sister. Ik that Mulan is referring to her dog and decided to name him that, but just clearing that up. Asian porridge is also made with rice (congee) and not oats, which is why we eat it with savoury dishes and sometimes even for dinner.

Exactly! Something I really really appreciate about Mulan is that the fact mulan's motivations for doing what she did wasn't to be like the first woman in the Army it was because she wanted to do what was right and keep her father from getting killed and protecting her country. Yes, her being looked down upon because she was a woman was something she went through but like, I don't know to me that never seemed like that was ever the first thing on her mind it was always to just be better and protect people she cared about like a true hero. She wasn't even ever against the idea of meeting somebody and getting married. That's why I appreciate this movie so much more than its remake

Bro most disney movies hit just different then any other good movies. Here are some options you could do next These movies you should defenitly try: - Aladin - Hercules - Coco - Moana - Encanto And here are some other classics: - Snow white - Belle and the beast - Little mermaid -Cinderella And i would stick with the animated ones. Most remakes are changed for the worst.

It's one of the first Disney movie I saw on cinema when I was a little girl (the other was " Tarzan "). If you're interested, there's a sequel but less appreciated than the first movie. Can you watch french movies (I'm french) ?
