Hullo Emma, This is a wonderfully beautiful painting! I have not been working with my pastels for a while now. I I have been trying to get my new watercolor palette sorted out! Do you have any tips on how to get your colors to look more opaque? I’m newer to this medium but my colors don’t look as bright as yours

It could be many factors including the type of pastel or the type of paper. Let me know what materials you're using and maybe I can suggest why that's happening. The simple answer with a soft pastel stick is to apply a bit more pressure to get a more opaque mark. You can layer up in thin layers but also press a little harder to make thicker marks.

Hi! I totally understand being put off a site because of reviews but honestly if you haven't experienced anything bad on Patreon yourself, I wouldn't judge it from reviews alone. I've been on there since 2018 and have nothing but good things to say. This tutorial is available for free there so you don't even have to pay anything. I decided to put it there as I'd love more people to come and check out the channel. I'll definitely release something full length here on KZbin again soon. I'm also working on adding some of my tutorials to my site for direct purchase so you don't need to go via another site but it's a work in progress!
