Hullo Emma, I am wondering about this Canson pastel velvet paper. It looks wonderful, yet that might just be your expertise! I have not even seen it for sale here in California! How does it stack up against the Hahnumule papers you use? Even V.S. Pastelmat? I am curious about this new paper? Please share any insights you feel comfortable sharing. Thank you.

Hi Michael, thanks for the comments. I'm not sure this paper will be for everyone who likes Pastelmat. Personally I really like it but there are subtle differences. Definitely most noticeable when it comes to applying pastel pencil over softer pigment. For me this isn't a huge issue but for some it would be a deal breaker and require a bit of adapting to. But on the whole it will be one of my regular choices now. It handles, posts and frames well too so I'm happy!
