To me this gives more meaning and context to his meeting with Asoka. I feel like, like Luke, she would have had the power to reach him, but she was filled with too much disgust seeing what he had become compared to the man she knew. Which leads to her rejecting him as a vile monster, similar to Padme here. It’s not until Luke, who was unclouded from the anger of seeing Anakin’s fall, that he was able to see what he could rise to be.

Darth vader always had this autopilot look to him, like his robotic body combined with his connection to the darkside was the only thing propelling him forward. You can almost see his face wrenched in a constant frown of discontent and rage behind the mask, vader to me is a child whose connection to the force was so overwhelming if tipped in either direction no human could resist the mad power. Vader looks and sound completely decided in his actions but through this you can see his disconnect

That's a good story actually. The force shows him a reflection of his past, present, and future. Literally showing him that he will return to the light at the end of it all. I like how this implies that the dark and light side of the force are one and the same. One side of selfishness and the other of selflessness.

Watching the whole segment of Darth Vader facing his past in the afterlife makes me really want to see you tackle Godzilla in Hell. There's not a lot in terms of story to cover, it's largely an excuse to draw cool monster fights in a grimy unreal setting, but it's a pretty obscure series given its beloved star and has a lot of really gorgeous art.

I will never understand why/how The Dark Side works. It's a bunch of disciplined and cooperative miserable sociopaths? You could aaaallllmost make sense out of Darth Vader's story. Because he seems to have a very derranged sense of repentance. So he's as close to lawfully evil as evil could ever be to "lawful," but I can't imagine how beurocracy or employment among the Dark Side works. Seems like it would require an impractical sum of money just to get people to tolerate workin with someone who literally worships hatred. I can barely stand my manager, and he's not an old man who beats me and calls me a filthy worm. He's only 35.
