Join me as I continue the multi-engine add-on series. In this episode, I continue the discussion of the commercial ACS and how I use it to conduct the commercial multi-engine add-on checkride.
Check out the podcast website to find the interactive ACS for both commercial and instrument. vsl.aero/podcast
Check my new Patreon page, where I will be adding a lot of exclusive content. / sethlake
Thanks for watching the channel! I'm trying something new and building chapters for the shows so you can skip straight to things you might be more interested in. Let me know what you think!

First, let me get a caveat out of the way, this video isn't really relevant to me per se; I am not even from nor in the U.S. Yet, it is interesting, well presented, and, in a nutshell, good entertainment. In fact, it is so well presented, that when listening to the audio only it all made very good sense, only now that you asked about the video parts did I realize that this episode is particularly video feature rich. So my first instinct was to tell you that if the video parts are a hassle to make, then they aren't needed; well, ok, they aren't, of course, but that made me have another thought. Maybe the reason (or one of the reasons) the presentation is so good, is because the fact that you actually have a yellow model plane in your hands while explaining, is somehow 'shining through' to the verbal part.

I appreciate the content. Former military pilot as well, the ACS is new to me, just getting back into flying after over a decade. Very helpful.

If I sell my house and live in a car I'll certainly get Seth to be my instructor for the multi-engine training that I don't really need. But it sure would be cool. 😁

Do you have to be instrument current for the MEL add on?

I'm not sure if there is a LOI on this or not. My policy is, yes. You must be current since you technically have to be able to act as PIC during the checkride. If you aren't current, then you couldn't act as PIC in instrument conditions. An argument could be made against this but I think it's best to be current going into the multi add-on. If for no other reason than you must be able to do a single engine instrument approach up to standards during the checkride. Although you may be able to do that without being current I think it's in your best interest to have not only currency but proficiency before attempting that.

Seth. I can’t get enough of this content. Planning to come out to Arkansas from Washington state to get this training. Watching this series has been more then helpful towards my preparation. Looking forward to part 3!
