Are you sure the 2nd last fish was a Koi? Is it possible for European carp to have colour like that? Or maybe it was a hybrid as the 2 species are very closely related.

Cicadas are good, my favourite is the tiny and nano siglett, the Smaller lure seems to get the bite even on the big fish, on light leader it's flutter is second to none The best topwater I have ever used is the Japanese made topwater dragonfly But my favourite is skip casting frog plastics by far, it's so addictive Here comes the carp, that's the best way for carp nothing but a hook and bait One better a nice koi there mate, such a cool fish, congratulations on your first koi, beautiful pattern on that one 👍 Koi I put back carp get the pest treatment, koi don't seem to breed in the waterways like the general carp But still in saying that I only put koi back in closed dams or waterways Great video as always

Nice, nothing beats a surface smash when it’s all quiet especially at night when there isn’t much noise. I’ve yet to try a frog, these bass are quite smart and finicky. That koi made my night! Such a beauty 🤩

My first one ever Alf! I’ve seen my friends pull them up out of different places and usually it’s a hit rate of something like 1 in 50 or lower so very rare for me

Well done shroomster.....that's a good area to fish. There would be some river donkey's in both sides. Brackish, does not surprise if a big flatty is sitting there, like bream and greedy tailor, they tolerate dirty water. If that's a koi from the fresh, more than likely someone had released it in there. There's probably a few gold fish as well. That fresh section, I've caught bream in the fresh as well, a d bass, carp, eels, a good old garden earthworms do for great bait.

40 years ago used to fish the freshwater area you were fishing always lots of carp and eels never bass well done mate. The salt water part was always just mullet (no wharf way back then)

Thanks Tin! I’m sure you’ll get one if you keep trying. I just keep it simple with bread and a small hook although I use to fish for carp twice a week and have caught hundreds. Nothing simpler than squeezing a ball of it on a hook and waiting
