I am an educator seeking to promote Literacy as the cornerstone of student achievement. This talk is for administrators, teachers and parents. The three key concepts ties in the importance of multiliteracies in the classroom from the concept of Literacy to disciplinary literacy to multiliteracies. This talk highlights the importance of the implementation of culturally sustained literacy practices to improve the academic achievement of any student of any age. Furthermore, it underscores the effectiveness of shaping pedagogy around the relationship with our students in order to make a greater impact on their academic lives and by extension preparing them for life and future successes.
